We had a great breakfast at Hazel’s on Yonge. Our server Larren appeared to be doing it all by himself! It was super busy, but Larren was super friendly and attentive. Food was as great as the service!

Based on recent reviews, Hazel’s Diner offers amazing food and service. The staff is super friendly, and even with a full house, customers receive the best attention. The food was always good, with specific meals like omelette, home fries, rye toast, and a burger that was ground fresh and well made. There is real milk and cream for coffee, no milkettes. However, some experiences have been mixed. One customer found the food just okay and noticed a bit of an unpleasant, chemical-like smell and quite a few flies competing for the meal. Another recent visit was very disappointing, with a chocolate milkshake served in a cappuccino glass with Hershey syrup still showing, not a tall glass. The menu has new looking menus with unclear options, like the Benny on Pancakes. While the service is exceptional and quick, and there is a nice diner feel to the place, some feel it is a bit pricier than before, though still great value for money. It used to be a neighbourhood staple, but some are not sure they will go back.
