Disappointed with both the service and the food.
Yet an other business that doesn’t accept cash. Lame.
I was there June 5 , Staff there so accommodating and friendly willing to get exactly what i need and even advice ! Did not get name of staff that cut sashimi to perfection so grateful !Kevin helped me take everything to my vehicle for that i am thankful as was a lot ! I have been to the other ones but to me service here is a lot better thanks again. ! They even separated my stuff into two as i was purchasing for my son as well ! Kevin gave me extra ginger and wasabi at no extra charger !
Small market/takeout combination place with well spaced-out merchandise so that you can browse comfortably even when the story is busy. They have a freezer section as well as dried pantry-type goods.
My focus was on buying sushi/rolls this visit. In one of the refrigerated areas, they have a bunch of pre-cooked foods including takoyaki and rolls. I got the torched salmon roll for just under $15 plus tax and takoyaki for around $5 which are both fairly priced.
The takoyaki doesn't refrigerate well so it's hard to heat up and expect the same experience as when ordered fresh. The roll was a lot better with tender salmon that was torched just enough to create that Maillard reaction without cooking the salmon.
Directly behind the area with the ready-to-go foods, is the takeout area. Interestingly, ordering a freshly made-to-order roll is not that much more than the premade stuff. I'd rather get the fresh made stuff next time and see how big a difference it is. Alternatively, I'd like them to drop the prices on the pre-made stuff.
Great place to buy sushi grade fish! We were able to make our own sushi at home which was really fun.
I was impressed with the quality and flavour of the Premium Nigiri Set ($45). We don't eat much so it was enough for two. Used food scissors to split the servings 🙈 Also bought a bunch of snacks. The Red Bean pastries and mochi were nice. I liked the LANGULY chocolate sandwich cookies too.
The staff is very friendly. Some reserved, some very outgoing.
It's a conference store and Japanese takeout place so not much to comment on about the atmosphere. I appreciate that they don't make a ton of noise when you go in and out like Japanese Izakaya restaurants.
Fresh fish and friendly service! Just a bit pricey. Overall great experience, will come back again.
I come here every week for sashimi, sushi and fresh rolls. I've yet to find a better place in Toronto.
Parking: There's usually at least a few parking spots available.

Lots of choices of fish, fresh and tasty. I wish they had sittings for grab and eating.

Drove out of my way to get sushi here!

I think there was a management change. The place has been revamped so it's more of an assembly line.
Sometimes, they don't have the basics in stock like the fatty tuna. I hope it's been resolved.
Prices on the higher end but tough to tell the quality difference. The bonus is that they still slice it for you.
Vegetarian options: It's a fish shop but there are a few things
Dietary restrictions: Confirm with staff
Parking: Small lot. Park on side street if full
Kid-friendliness: You could bring your kid but it's a take out place
Wheelchair accessibility: Sure. There won't be a washroom

Freshest sashimi in the GTA especially the scallops and bluefin tuna (otoro). Not cheap but worth every penny. When you pay ask them to slice it for you. You can also order nigiri sushi a la carte if buying the large pieces in bulk is too much in portion. Just know the chef goes on lunch break 1230-130 so no sushi made during that time period.
