My friends and I have always been loyal fans of Owl of Minerva whenever we’re craving delicious Korean food, and the food, as always, did not disappoint. However, the experience at this particular location was far from the positive encounters we’ve had at others, and it’s left a sour taste that’s hard to ignore. The food was good, but the service was undeniably the worst we’ve ever experienced. We were treated harshly by one of the servers, which was completely uncalled for. When we went to pay our bill, she hit the counter table with her tray twice and rolled her eyes at us in a display of utter rudeness. As someone who has worked in the customer service industry for years, I understand the importance of treating customers with respect, regardless of the situation. This type of behaviour is unacceptable and not something I’d expect from a restaurant that has been a staple for good Korean food. It’s unfortunate that this incident has overshadowed the food, because Owl of Minerva used to be one of our go-to spots. After this experience, I won’t be returning to this location, and I’m truly disappointed that the service tarnished what should’ve been a great meal.

I have been eating at this location for sometime especially the Gamjatang soup. The soup itself is delicious but the last 3 times I’ve noticed that it has changed. It is thicker with tens of small bones and leftovers from meat. I believe they boil the soup nonstop until it literally becomes a chunky sauce and very hard to enjoy it. At the end you need to leave half bowl as it is to much meat debris and you risk to choke on little bones. Sorry people but you need to make the soup a soup as it was before not sell overcooked and maybe old soup. *** this review refers to this very popular soup only as I am a huge fan of it*** TC

What a experience from far away! Thank you for the staffs and owners. I could released my homesickness. See you again!
Very disappointed, I've dined at owl for numerous years, yesterday the food was good as usual. But when it came to paying the bill the transaction was less then satisfactory. They only excepted cash yesterday and did not give the 5% discount as stated on a sign. Gave the cashier $100 for $71 bill and the lady closed the till and said thank you. I had to demand for my change. The lady smiled and acted clueless, then opened the till and gave me $19 back. When I told her she gave me the wrong amount, she smiled again and threw a loonie on the tray. I looked at her with a confused look and she continued acting clueless for a bit, till she said oh. And gave me the $10 that was missing, at this point I'm pretty sure she's pretending to be clueless and thinks the newer generation can't do math and trying to trick us for more tips.

This place was one of my favorite 8 years ago. Now it became to something that I will never ever go to. The prices went up but the food went down. Not only the portions became smaller ,the side dishes as well. This rib beef soup costs 19,99$ but look at the amount of meet they give you. Absolute shame. Bye bye to this place and their ex loyal customer.

Food is good but employees are not kind. We need separate bill but they said no. Also When we tried to pay with Mastercard, they suddenly asked if we had VISA. I think it was because the fees were high. I like a Food. And I didn't tip because I liked the server, but she kept saying that the tip wasn't included, so I just gave her $5. No, I wasn't satisfied.
