Number 1. The best sushi I ever had!

We went for table service omakase and overall the experience was good. The fish quality was strong, the nigiri was clean and well-balanced, and the pacing felt thoughtful. Service was attentive and filled up our tea meticulously. The setting is intimate and it definitely aims for a premium, “special occasion” vibe (we were able to keep a cute memento).

That said, I left a bit torn on value. We were told to expect 20 pieces of nigiri but received 18, and 14 pieces of sashimi but received 12. On a bill that lands around $400 (tax + tip), that kind of shortfall stands out, even if the quality is there. At this price point, the details matter and portion accuracy is part of the promise.

If everything matched what was communicated, I’d feel a lot better recommending it without hesitation. As it was, it was enjoyable, but I’m not fully convinced it’s worth the cost unless they’re consistent with what they say you’re getting.

Sushi here is on another level. Super fresh, high-quality fish and everything tastes so clean and well made. You can really tell they care about what they’re serving. So happy I discovered this place — definitely a new favorite! 🍣✨

My wife and I came to Hoseki Sushi to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and Chef Tim and his entire team absolutely blew us away. We did the Omakase dining experience and it was flawless from start to finish. The fish was incredibly fresh, and we were treated to several rare selections we’ve never had elsewhere. This is a top-notch establishment and truly the best dining experience in Oakville. We will be back for sure!

The overall experience was very average. This was my first visit and definitely my last.

The food itself was fine, but the serving pace was extremely slow. The kitchen seemed to prepare all dine-in tables and takeout orders together, instead of serving dishes by table. As a result, we would eat a bite or two and then sit there waiting a long time for the next dish.

The most disappointing part was the service. There is only one server and she seemed untrained and inattentive. Every time we tried to find a server, no one was around. After dropping off a dish, she would disappear completely.

The bill came to around $500. Even the minimum 10% tip would be $50. With this level of service, I don’t think it deserves a single dollar in tips.

We enjoyed a special birthday celebration with family visiting from NY, and Hoseki did not disappoint. Our group of seven ordered à la carte, and everyone had a wonderful experience. The nigiri was exceptional, and the rolls were delicious as well.
Our guests loved it just as much as we did, and we will certainly be visiting again!

A very enjoyable experience. The staff were welcoming and perfectly knowledgeable about our gluten restrictions, which allowed us to enjoy a great dinner safely. We had the sashimi dinner and the sushi & maki — the fish was beautifully presented, fresh, and excellent. The atmosphere was also very pleasant, with nice jazz music playing in the background. We’ll go back with no hesitation.
