Wow, what an experience. We both thought the atmosphere was nice as soon as we arrived. Decent ambiance and not too loud. We ordered and that’s when the problems began. I ordered three courses, starting with a salad. My partner ordered an appetizer of arrancini and a main. The arrancini arrived and were delicious. Plenty to share. Which we had to, because my salad never came out. Over one hour after ordering, I was finally served my main, at which point I remarked ‘I guess I’m not getting my salad?’ The server realized it had been forgotten and blamed the kitchen. I told him at this point to please not serve it. I ordered the salmon, which was tasteless and overcooked. It came with veg, which were swimming in oil. My partner got the mushroom pizza, which was fine. As we’re eating, a table that arrived just after us still hasn’t even received their first course. They got up and stormed out. At this point it had been well over one hour. Then the table next to us was nearly done eating and asked why they never received their salad, either. The server did comp us a dessert, but between the ridiculous wait time, the forgotten dish and the not so great main, the night was a write off. We really wanted to like this place but we won’t return after that. $100 for a not great meal isn’t my idea of money well spent.

Your experience probably won't match mine. I went on a night after a local week long food festival and the place was empty. It was my partner and I enjoying the warm atmosphere as though it were our personal dining room. I can imagine how much fun it would be while full but while empty the staff are eager to create return business with personal, detailed attention. They still had the specials from the festival and they were exceptional, experimental and delicious. I had gnocchi in a tomato sauce and a hearty potato soup with plenty of bacon and chicken. What really set them apart though is the fact that I left my phone onder the table and it was returned to me the next day by an understanding and accommodating manager who opened the doors early knowing exactly what I was there for because the staff had set it aside for me the previous night. A great experience in the heart of Oakville and I hope they stay for years to come. Ask for Phillip if you want to enjoy the same level of service I had.

Piazza Bistro met my expectations of being in the heart of downtown Oakville. Amar was a great host, Phil took amazing care of us and the food was excellent. We got the Spring special and had an amazing night, thank you!

We were a party of 3 adults and tried Piazza Bistro for the first time on a Saturday evening during Taste of Oakville. We all agreed that the linguine pasta, veggie pizza, beet salad and creme brulee were delicious. The tasting menu is good value. Server Cali is lovely and was helpful with menu choices. The bartender brought our beverages to the table and checked in with us for a refresh. The big let down for us was the lack of ambience. When we entered the restaurant, the aroma was definitely not Italian cuisine, but rather a Mesquite aroma; like a Memphis BBQ. The entrance is empty except for a large stainless steel counter housing the coffee maker and hostess stand and entry to the kitchen. It felt cold and uninspiring. The eating are is in a separate room with the bar. It is pleasant, but the decor is sparse. Our big negative is the noise level, which made it challenging to have a good visit with friends over dinner. There was a vocalist with a sound machine. Although she had a nice voice and selection of songs, the music was loud for this small venue. As more patrons arrived, the noise level became uncomfortable. Personally, I think it may be better to use recorded music to allow for volume control. I thought that the entertainment was a distraction rather than an attraction. We will not return for this reason. Lunch without the entertainment feature or the take out menu may be the best option here, as the food is the strong suit.Vegetarian options: Tried the veggie pizza. It was delicious.Caesar salad dressing had too much garlic for my taste. It was definitely more than averageKid-friendliness: There were families with children when we dined. It is child friendly

We went to Piazza Bistro for my mom’s 80th birthday. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time and the food was delicious. When my dad’s dinner was a little too spicy for his preference, they happily remade a milder version. And love the half price bottles of wine on Wednesdays!Vegetarian options: A lot of options for vegetarians.

No bartender on, so no mixed drinks. Food was good, and there was some live music, which was ok, but hard to have a conversation.

We celebrated my husband's birthday during the Taste of Oakville event. We ordered the grilled calamari for an app, Gnocchi (both kids) chicken marsala (husband) and the crème Brule for dessert. I had the Pappardelle from the regular menu. Everything tasted good. The Taste of Oakville menu was a good deal as separately these would have been $50-$63 and the price was $40.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time on our date celebrating a belated birthday and Valentine's. We chose a reservation time that was nice and early at 5:45pm just before it got busy around 6:30-7pm. We came for the 'Taste of Oakville' menu, which I chose because of the variety in entrees they had. We started with the calamari which was beautifully grilled and paired with a garlic aioli. For our entrees we had the gnocchi and the chicken. The only complaint my boyfriend had about the gnocchi was that it was a smaller amount that expected; whereas my plate was filled with mushrooms, veggies and little potatoes. The chicken was well cooked, juicy, and the wine gravy sauce was sooooo delicious! Lastly, the dessert was set as only a creme brule and I'm lactose intolerant, but they were able to accommodate and give me a lemon sorbet which was perfect. Our drinks were a rye and ginger and a whisky sour, again, made perfectly by our waitress. Unfortunately the service became a bit slower but we didn't mind, our waitress was working all the table with the occasional help from a gentleman running food. The atmosphere was lovely but became louder as the tables filled up, because of the small venue the tables end up being slightly closer together. Overall, amazing experience and totally coming back! Thank you.

Service was slow. Had one server working on a Saturday night. Place needs some sprucing up. Food did not disappoint thankfully. Live keyboard was a nice touch.
