Zesty - Shawarma & Halal Catering Oakville Restaurant

We got the medium chicken poutine and half and half with rice and fries and both were so delicious! Everything was made fresh with great flavours, and the owner is so friendly and provided great service. The hot sauce is especially a highlight! The store is also very clean with comfy seats.

Saj bread was old and stale and falling apart. Chicken from the poutine was old and too chewy. Would not recommend at all. Please don’t get fooled by the reviews.

I have been a regular customer here for the past 5 to 6 years and live right across the street. I’ve always enjoyed the food and have ordered from this location many times.

Today, I had a disappointing experience. I ordered a shawarma and asked for no vegetables, with an extra scoop of chicken instead. I was happy to pay for the extra chicken. My order would have come to about $22 instead of the regular $14, so I wasn’t asking for anything for free.

The employee refused my request and told me that I could not customize my shawarma in any way. This was surprising because I’ve made the same request at this location before without any issues, and most shawarma restaurants are happy to accommodate simple customizations, especially when the customer is paying for the additional ingredients.

What disappointed me most wasn’t the refusal itself, but the attitude and unwillingness to help. Customer service should involve trying to accommodate reasonable requests, particularly from loyal customers.

I hope the management looks into this and clarifies their policy. If customization is truly not allowed, it should be applied consistently. If it is allowed, staff should be trained to handle these requests respectfully. Unfortunately, this experience has made me reconsider returning after years of being a loyal customer.

I have been a regular customer here, but today was very disappointing. It seems like there may be new ownership, because the quality was not what I am used to. I ordered the fattoush salad with chicken and the chicken was rubbery, while the salad looked old and had browned pieces throughout. The toppings were very skimpy too, with only a couple small pieces of cucumber. Unfortunately, this experience was enough that I will not be returning.

We've been getting the Chicken Shawarma Feast for a while now. It stands out from other platters because it includes both rice and pita bread, which is perfect for a family where everyone has a different preference. I feel the chicken quantity can vary depending on who is serving that day, but overall it’s a great taste and amazing value. Highly recommended.
