The Common Stove Reviews
Food is so good. Very flavourful and not the same old stuff everyone else has. Great atmosphere and our server Tanner was one of the best servers we have ever had anywhere. High end without being pretentious. Highly recommend!
Been to some of the best culinary schools and restaurants around the world this is a joke tbh food sub par lobster smells off heard a guy joking how it sat all day disgusting and also dangerous food practices I wouldn’t waste my money on this I’d rather find a food truck where it’s all freshly made with local produce not frozen food from out of country 😂

The Common Stove in Barrie is a highly recommended restaurant, known for its delicious meals cooked over a wood fire. The atmosphere is welcoming, and outdoor dining is available in a speakeasy-style alleyway. Standout dishes include scallops, ribeye, and potatoes. The Arctic char, char, and filet mignon mains are also popular choices. New menu options like rack of lamb and a squash dish have received fantastic reviews. Sides such as oysters, carrots, chophouse potatoes, and bok choy are delicious accompaniments. Customers enjoy the chance to watch the cooking process at the counter table, where they can see the steak sizzle on the grill. Recent reviews highlight the excellent service and impressive menu, making this restaurant a must-visit. Guests praise the food as very fresh and tasty, with special mentions of a perfectly cooked ribeye, decadent bone marrow, and a superb Cornish hen. The staff, including servers like Julia and Miss 'Sam', are described as attentive, friendly, and professional. The owner also goes to tables to ensure satisfaction, which many guests appreciate. The restaurant is a great spot for a couples night out, a special occasion, or group gatherings. The open fire adds warmth and comfort, especially on cold nights, and the wine list offers nice options like Sicilian wine. Overall, The Common Stove continues to deliver fabulous steak, mouthwatering accompaniments, and great service, making it a favorite in Barrie.
