Ate there yesterday and they were so cheap they wouldn’t give full portions. The food isn’t even that good not worth it at all

Their food is very good
Excellent seafood chowder - great taste and lots of seafood. Mushroom gruyere burger was great tasting and large with a great heirloom salad which contains a variety of different things.
On a business trip, we wanted a quick but tasty place to eat. This was located one block from our hotel. I had the OCCO Burger and tried the poutine. The burger was very tasty, the poutine was good, and the service was exceptional. I would definitely recommend if you are in the downtown Ottawa area.
I took my sister in law for lunch to celebrate her birthday. First time i have been back in since the renovation. It looks great. Food was good although fries were not that hot temperature wise. Service was disappointing again. Our server was not very welcoming upon entering the restaurant nor did her lack of enthusiasm improve throughout our visit. Worst i have encountered in a long time. Was going to tip her nothing however she was lurking right above the machine as i filled it out and i caved and left her the bottom amount of 15%. We were there right at noon but restaurant was not overly busy and she was definately not hustling about. Not the first visit i have had here with bad servers , it really deters me from going back, no matter how good the food is.
OCCO - Orleans location. General nice atmosphere & I assume will have a bit more of a personality once completed décor wise, right now tone on tone greyish. I live in British Columbia and was out visiting. My daughter took me there for lunch as said the food choice options would fit all our tastes. There were the 3 of us, two adults and one child ( 10 years). Newly renovated. Great food options, we had fish & chips, chicken fingers (for the child). and Buddha Bowl. . Definitely could use a splash of colour to brighten up the grey tones. Server was excellent and helpful. Lunch for the 3 of us with tip came to just a smidge over $80.00.
Arrived into Ottawa and searched for a restaurant close to the Homewood Suites on Queen Street. We were directed to Occo. The restaurant was empty upon arrival with just two waitstaff and the back of house folks. As the hour proceeded...the restaurant became busier. We ordered the Candy Bacon Cheeseburger -triple a chuck/cheddar cheese/ candied bacon/ house pickles/ lettuce/ tomato- served with fries or salad. One of THE best Burgers I've ever eaten! This was our first taste of candied bacon. There's is made in house, delectable, sweet and crunchy! We have attempted to make it at home but the result was not like the restaurants! The beef juicy and tasty, the buns awesome and flavourful! Request extra napkins immediately. I enjoyed the Heirloom Salad- cherry tomatoes/ bocconcini/ popping fruit boba/ beets/ carrots/ honey vinaigrette. The fruity popping boba were a great addition! Loved them! The waitstaff were very busy running about on a Monday night. One server was also the beverage host and it was a slow go to receive extra napkins, our bill and to pay. Regardless, Occo was a great start to our holiday! Thanks to all Would we return...definitely!
Every single time I visit Ottawa, it’s an absolute given, I am taking anyone I am with to OCCO. I have never had a bad meal ever at this restaurant, I have also been here at least 20 times. I am usually only staying about a week, I always make sure I go at least twice. The spices are fresh. The fish taco is amazing. They have one salad that has bobbas in it.. ( and honestly who doesn’t like bobbas in a salad) it’s remarkable! Clam chowder is on point.. OCCO never disappoints!! Best rhyme ever!! This place is a gem for sure!
Me, my sister and her boyfriend decided to go to OCCO kitchen one night, since my sister loved it and went often. I hadn't gone there since I was little, but remember it was pretty good. We arrived around 6:30, hoping to order some food and then just take it to go. When we arrived the place was busy, but it wasn't crazy busy. The hostess was very cheery and pleasant, but she did seem a little bit busy. Once we got are order in she told us it would be about a 20-30 minute wait which was totally fine with us. We then left the premises, walked across the street to Sephora and looked around there for a good while, to pass the time. We walked back to see if are food was ready, it was not. By this time it was about 7:10 and we were all getting quite hungry, the hostess told us to sit in the lounge area in the front of the restaurant. We patiently waited for about another 20 minutes. I got up to check multiple times to check if the food was ready and on the counter waiting for us yet. After about another 5 minutes, the hostess came to us to apologize for the long wait, and that it was just really packed. Keep in mind they didn't seem that busy, I've definitely seen busier. She finally arrived with are food in hand at about 7:35 and apologized once more for the long wait. She was very nice and apologetic and I definitely dont blame her for the extra long wait. We went home and started eating. Let me just prefice this by saying that I've had many OCCO kitchen burgers and meals before, and they were all good, and my sister loved their food. Overall the food was okay. The burger was bit dry and didn't have as much flavour as I was hoping for but I was hungry and it was okay. The fries were definetly not the best and neither was the sauce that it came with. All that to say, my experience was fine, I will return and try again, because I do want to give OCCO kitchen another chance. but for this time it definitely didn't woo me.
New discovery for us. The food was tasty but in my opinion the portion was not big enough. My husband had chicken and I had the goat. The goat was over cooked (deep fried) and had more bones than meat. The side salad was a very small portion. The rice with beans was adequate and very tasty. We also got a slice of plantain in our plate, again a few slices would have been appreciated. May give it another try but honestly for the price, I expected more!
Parking: Lots of parking, especially when you are the only diners!
