I have had my mother working in a bakery in Greece for years and I love desserts but this was really bad. Cake should be soft and not the dough I got. I avoid posting negative reviews but no one liked the cake and I had a lot of people try it. They give a good service,even though one of my emails for order confirmation wasn't answered, and they are pricey but it wasn't worthy .I would never ask for a rembursement but I'm never going back.

From the outset, I confirmed multiple times with the owner, Jamie-Lynn, regarding the flavor and type of cake we wanted for our special day. Despite these clear communications, when the cake was delivered, it was not what we had agreed upon. This was not just a minor oversight; it was a significant deviation from what we had discussed and arranged.
To make matters worse, nobody at our wedding enjoyed the cake. This was not only disappointing but also added a distressing element to an already challenging situation. I felt as though my wedding was ruined, as we had expected our cake to be perfect, just like the rest of our celebration. Instead, when we cut the cake, we discovered that it wasn’t raspberry-filled, nor was the cake itself raspberry-flavored, despite my repeated requests.
When I approached Jamie-Lynn to resolve the issue, I was taken aback by her rude demeanor. Instead of addressing the problem professionally, she insulted both my husband and me, as well as my godmother, while we tried to express our concerns. We kindly requested a refund, as we felt this was a reasonable expectation given the circumstances. My husband even offered two potential solutions to Jamie-Lynn, but she chose to ignore them completely and treated us, her customers, inappropriately and rudely.
I feel as though this is a scam. Jamie-Lynn understood through our email exchanges exactly what I requested multiple times, yet she refused to admit she made a mistake. When we sought a resolution, she wouldn’t compromise on giving us a refund of over $600, which felt unjust and unfair.
In a bizarre twist, one minute Jamie-Lynn would say she understood the situation, and the next, she accused me of having written a typo. This inconsistency only added to my frustration as it seemed she was grasping for excuses instead of taking responsibility for her mistakes.
The situation escalated when my husband sought to have a calm conversation with Jamie-Lynn about how to move forward. In a shocking turn of events, she “banned” him from the premises, which felt both unjust and unprofessional. Jamie-Lynn also accused my godmother of disrespecting and yelling at her, which was entirely unfounded and added to the distress of the situation.
Throughout this ordeal, all I wanted was to find a fair resolution to the problems we encountered. Instead, I was met with hostility and a complete lack of accountability. It’s disheartening to see a business operate in such a manner, especially when it concerns a moment as significant as a wedding.

Must be Appalled and embarrassed that her "perfect"cake was UNEDIBLE!!Be careful for people that can do no wrong!! Its a pity I didn't go back and take pictures of all of the uneaten cake!! I literally shrieked when I saw it! Most importantly, it was DELICIOUS. Moist and rich red velvet sponge, and the icing was SO creamy and didn't have that too-sugary icing flavour. It was structurally very strong and she even included a card with cutting, transportation, and storage tips. My husband loved it and it was quite literally the "icing on the cake" of his birthday party. Highly recommend Batter Up for your event! Thank you Jamie Lynn!

Despite adding fresh roses and flowers myself, the cake fell short in many areas, especially considering the price of over $300 plus tax. The cake didn’t resemble the image I provided at all, and instead of the pastel colors I requested, it arrived in a royal blue, which was far from what I envisioned. The writing was a let down, I think the photo speaks for itself. I've ordered from here three times before and was always satisfied, but this last experience was a letdown. You might wonder why I’m posting this review a year later, but as I’m booking my daughter’s cake for this year, I can’t help but feel anxious about disappointing my guests again. Last year’s cake was such a disappointment that the thought of it still gives me anxiety. As I was making this year’s booking, I had a flashback to last year’s letdown. I had a vision for the cookies to match the theme of the bachelorette and our weekend plans and they absolutely nailed it!!!!!! I was so excited when I picked up the cookies because of how amazing they looked and knew our bride would love them.
Our bride was OBSESSED!! I think she mentioned either how much she loved the cookies, how good they tasted, how amazing they looked, how she couldn't believe how talented Jamie-Lynn and her team were, or how she just could not believe they were gluten free at a minimum of 5 times a day throughout the entire weekend. For something that seems like such a small detail to an entire weekend, it had a tremendous positive impact and I could not recommend Batter Up bakery enough for anyone looking to add a personal and delicious touch to their event!
