I wanted decorated sugar cookies for my daughter's birthday and Batter Up Bakery didn't disappoint. I submitted a request online and got a prompt response. I shared my theme and ideas for the cookies - I didn't give a ton of direction since, as a baker myself, I know sometimes you have to give some artistic freedom - and Jamie-Lynn said it wouldn't be a problem. I confirmed pick-up time close to the date to make sure all was in order - no issues. Pick-up took no time at all and I had the pleasure of being surprised by the design. All the guests that tried the cookies said they were amazing and loved them. I would definitely go back for out next event.

Although I had to follow up with a confirmed pick up time, everything else was phenomenal. When I picked up the cake I ordered ( very last minute) they were practically emptied out moving into a new location ( whoch is why i gave them a 4/5 rating. Im sure the new place will be amazing!). Congratulations in the next chapter of Batter Up Bakery!! Even through all the motions they've been going through I was still able to place a last minute order and it was exactly what I wanted! A stunning cake for my mother's 70th birthday not only beautiful but also very delicious. It was a major hit with all the adults and children! I got a salted caramel chocolate- salted caramel filling(which was a real caramel filling, and a chocolate flavored cake. Outstanding! I highly recommend Batter Up Bakery!

We bought our wedding cake from Batter Up Bakery. A two-tiered cake of lemon and chocolate with simple white buttercream frosting. It was exactly what we wanted: elegant, beautiful, and delicious! Jamie-Lynn was great to work with throughout and hand-delivered it to our wedding venue the day of. We, and our guests, loved it!

I took a while to mull over writing this review. Starting with a positive, the cake came out looking beautifully. Unfortunately it tasted nothing like the sample we received, was extremely gummy and undercooked and went uneaten by all guests at our wedding. When I addressed this via email with the business directly, I was told by Jamie-Lynn, quite rudely, that I and my guests were the problem. No earnest solution was offered. Very sad and disappointed. It was the one and only disappointing thing that came out of my wedding day.

Batter up made my father's 100th birthday cake, the center piece of this great day. I outlined what mattered to him, including his favourite montreal deli (smoked meat sandwich, pickle), the body was his scouts uniform and it was surrounded by other favourites. Not only was it out of this world visually, but the cake itself was a 10 out 0f 10! Moist and tasty. I'll be up to bat with this team again.

Batter Up Bakery WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!? My obsession with vanilla buttercream cupcakes is out of this world and I haven’t been satisfied in Ottawa UNTIL NOW! We got the vanilla, cotton candy, and fun fetti cupcakes and they were fresh, fluffy, perfect sweetness and so good! I can’t wait to try the cookies and cream, red velvet, carrot and more! I ordered a custom cake last December. Unfortunately I was disappointed because the cake was very doughy and there were only three layers for a cake over 30 cm high. The icing had a non-smooth texture and tasted of aged butter. I think the number of layers in a cake is very important.
The cake we ordered was absolutely amazing!!! Everyone was blown away at the detail attention. And the flavour was superb 👌 We couldn't have asked for better service and the cake wasstop notch. I'm still get requests for the name of the bakery a month later.

Batterup Bakery is the BEST!!! I've worked with Jamie-Lynn and her team in both a professional sense, and I order through her for my own kid's birthdays (or personal special occassions), and she ALWAYS delivers incredible cookies/cakes/cupcakes/cakepops/literally everything.
I'm a local wedding photographer, so I often work weddings where she's created the cake and/or sweets. Photographing her work is like photographing a work of art. It's such a treat. She's SO detail oriented, and always delivers sweets that people rave about. I get a first-hand experience of hearing guests reactions (without them filtering anything) or overhearing their candid thoughts about the desserts, and I've never once heard a negative review, which is really saying something!
On a personal front, I've tested out cakes from multiple bakeries/cake artists over the years, and no one compares to Batterup Bakery. I'll forever order cakes for my twins birthday through BB!!! In my opinion, her cookies are the perfect texture (and you can customize SO much), her cakes have the right amount of icing (never too much, but also never too little lol), and they last days without going stale. Also, the process for picking up orders is seamless, and she makes everything so easy for the customer!
And my own recommendation? Hands down my favourite cake (EVER in existence) is the chocolate cake with the chocolate fudge filling. OMGGGG to die for. My husband is still drooling over the lemon cake and claims THAT one is the best he's ever had hahahahha so it's clearly all a big hit in our family! The kids absolutely loved and devoured them too (although that doesn't at all surprise me - I knew they would). We are so so so appreciative of Batterup Bakery and their immense talent!!! Thank you SO much for accommodating us and making our kids birthdays so special. It truly wouldn't have been the same without you!!!
