I came here for dinner after a long day at work. The owner and cook made me feel such a warm welcome, it felt like coming loving home than a restaurant. Speaking with the staff, I felt genuinely cared for and a part of the family. The food was flavourful and filling, made fresh on the spot. I highly recommend coming here for the food and welcoming atmosphere!

This was really greasy an salty an barely any chicken in my lemon chicken which falls under your chicken category so where's the chicken. Next the ginger an beef not much beef the egg rolls were saturated in grease could not eat them. We order out at least 1 or twice a week an this cost is almost 120$ used to be good now I'd never order here again

I’ve been ordering takeout from this place since 1984. My daughter and I recently stopped by to pick up an order of Yang Chow rice. After living overseas for 4 years, we were excited to eat our fave rice dish and it didn’t disappoint. I was pleased to reconnect with the same woman who has been serving us for years.

Classic Chinese food, they use potato starch instead of wheat so gluten free. Excellent!

Love this place! The wonton soup is loaded with wontons, bok choy and roast pork. Delish! I’ve been a few times and the owner (wife) is so nice, always recommending things when I can’t decide.

I’d give zero stars if possible. Never in my life have I ever been in a business with such rude servers and owner. They expect high tips, but don’t want to treat you with basic courtesy as you walk in the door.
You shouldn’t be running a restaurant if you’re this angry, please seek anger management and take some classes in manners.

The food is not upto the standard considering the price. We ordered spicy items but they were kinda bland. The amount was also not sufficient.

Really enjoyed eggplant (鱼香茄子), but the hot sour soup was too salty or sour, hard to compliment. The waitress was quite courteous and pleasant, and the wait wasn’t long.

Was revisiting after many years with expectations that it would satisfy the cravings of chinese comfort food.
What we got instead was:
- zero service (fetched menu, dropped off order on a sheet at the counter, requested cleaner mugs for tea, requested water only to be told to wait) -- all of this somewhat excusable/OK though since there was just one staff tending to the whole restaurant which was moderately full.
- poorly maintained washrooms (no soap, dirty and dimly lit)
- high prices, but poor quality: the dishes were 25+ before taxes, and the quality was sub-par. Didn't complain because all restaurants can have bad days.
- finally, while paying for the bill, that already seemed a little higher than it should have been and leaving a lower than average tip, I got a scolding about how there's a minimum tip option, and that they had to pay the government, so I still owed them money. When asked if I understood, I quite simply said no, because I thought I just paid the bill along with any taxes. I was lectured about how every restraurant has to pay the government and told to not come back to the restraurant.

I think the owner/staff fails to understand that customers do understand how the taxation system works, how tipping works and how scams work. This was an attempt at extortion. This was the worst service I have ever had eating out across the world.

Definitely following their recommendation to never come back. That was the best thing to come out of there.

Stay far away from this place! It’s a total scam — overpriced, mediocre food and shady business practices. The owner is manipulative and two-faced, attempting to squeeze out a second tip by inventing a fake “government fee,” even after you've already tipped.

To make matters worse, they're clearly understaffed. You’re expected to write down your own order, bring it to the owner, and fetch your own menus — all while being charged like it’s a full-service restaurant.

It’s shocking how many people just accept this without question (though you’ll find others who had similar experiences in the reviews below). This place survives by cutting corners and taking advantage of unsuspecting customers. Don’t be one them!

DISHONEST - CHEATS TAKE OUT CUSTOMERS. It's unfortunate when it has happened twice, when I get the bill for the take out, it's conveniently about $20 too high even if they had added tax and tip to it. They act like it's an innocent mistake. I doubt it.

As for the food, it's adequate but there are better, more authentic, less greasy versions out there. I would normally go to my favourite Cantonese restaurant on another part of Somerset but it was closed that day. I won't be returning to Ben Ben.

The food at this place is amazing! Everything is well cooked, seasoned wonderfully, with good prices and large portion sizes. We had BBQ pork fried rice, mixed vegetables in black bean sauce with steamed rice and vegetable spring rolls and all of them were delightful.
