It is more than a bistro! I had a lunch with a business team and it was very good. Positioned in the heart of Manotick, with plenty of street parking in front of the place.
The joint is pleasantly done, with woodden beams in the dining area. It would be nice if the fireplace was running, as it was a chilly day and felt a bit cold inside.
Burgers are excellent, pork ribs even better. Nicely done roast potatoes and soup of the day was just the right size.
If you are in Manotick area, check this place out.

Excellent restaurant, upscale but not outrageous. Service was wonderful. Parking definitely a pain, especially in winter, so I parked across the street. I definitely want to return. You can really tell that the chef knows what they're doing. Highly recommend

Enjoyed our meal. Will go back and try other dishes. The staff was great from the hostess to the server to the bartender. Steak sandwich was good, Caesar salad to start was average. The ceiling beams are a fantastic feature.

We were a group of 11 and had an impeccable dinner at the Black Dog. Two young wait staff who defined good service; not pretentious, making each one of us feel welcome and valued for our patronage. The cocktails, meal, dessert did not disappoint. Looking forward to returning again.
Great environment for dinner at Black Dog Bistro. Natasha was our server, and she recommended the lamb shank paired with a red wine, which was an excellent choice. She was kind and attentive throughout the evening, we had a great experience overall and will definitely be back.

2019- Yearly Christmas party is always a good time with way too much good food. 2025 update. Still good. Creme brulé is one of my favorites here. As a large group we get to share and try many of the appetizers (such a good way to try new things)
