i used to work there, and i’ve been back multiple times to enjoy coffee and food because their coffee is genuinely one of my favourite in ottawa. all I have to say is their food has gotten so much better even though it was really good to begin with. they widened their menu to attract more people with different tastes. as a previous barista and cashier, i’m very proud of how much they’ve grown as a company!! nothing bad to say about them :)
Beautiful spot. My carrot cake was fresh, coffee was strong and delicious. Great menu, so many options to go back and try. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I’ve been here three times and every time is awful. The lattes are gross, they don’t mix the matcha properly, the cakes aren’t good, and the service isn’t pleasant. I don’t recommend coming here.

I usually very much enjoy Cafe Cristal’s crepe offerings, service and venue.Today I thought I would try their high tea. I was disappointed. The tea, although tasty was served in broken tea pots. The savoury options, although generous in portion included three varieties of chicken salad. For a business that does so well with their savoury menu, I was expecting more creativity than something I could have purchased at the grocery store. The sweet options were enjoyable, but were nothing as nice as what is available off their main menu.Sorry to say, very much not worth the $45 price tag.

We ordered waffles with strawberries and a crepe. They said the waffles would take 30 mins, ok we’ll wait. After 45 minutes, we were served the crepes and, instead of waffles, two croissants flattened with strawberries between them. I cannot fathom why it took so long. We ate what we were given because we were starving at that point. Super disappointing.

My friend and I found this cafe through Google. What a lovely spot! We arrived on a Thursday around Noon and it was nearly fully occupied. Our beverages and chosen menu items were absolutely delicious. The room is spacious, classy, clean, and the servers were lovely in helping us feel welcome and well served. We each agreed we would come back and bring someone else to introduce this cafe to. Highly recommended! ** outdoor parking is limited and tight so be aware **
