Love the late breakfast on weekends. Great idea for a university area restaurant.

My husband and I came to Father and Sons this past Wednesday night for a late dinner and boy was it busy! We don't normally write reviews, however we wanted to commend the young girl who was working very hard. She was not our server, he was also wonderful, but she went out of her way to help us with a problem we had with our meal and questions we had on several other occasions. She was serving a full patio, the whole downstairs of the restaurant, several groups and handling many intoxicated students who were waiting at the door (who we learned thought it was karaoke Wednesday), and she still made us feel very well taken care of, you would have never known she was so busy if you couldn't see it for yourself. Father and Sons certainly knows how to hire at their restaurant, we will certainly be back based on the good service, just maybe not late on a Wednesday night!

Best bfast in town! The atmosphere reminds me of my university days back in the early 90’s and the service is excellent. It’s an Ottawa institution. Highly recommend!.

I really enjoyed my visit here! The food was delicious and definitely worth coming for breakfast, and the staff were welcoming and kind. The only thing is that it took about 20 minutes for my food to come out, and it also gets a bit loud inside. Overall, I’d still recommend it if you want good food and don’t mind waiting a little!

Consistently great service, and cheap cocktails. Definitely recommend the long island iced tea and the smiling sammy’s (you can’t even taste the alcohol— drink with caution). The windowsills and windows were pretty dusty though, so I wouldn’t recommend a seat by there.
First time going here. I stumbled upon it googling restaurants near me when we were in Ottawa. It did not dissapoint. The food is good, prices are phenomenal, and the service is great.
