At GOGIYA Korean Fried Chicken, nestled conveniently close to our convention center, our craving for Korean fried chicken found its match. Despite its modest size, the restaurant offers a welcoming, snug atmosphere without feeling overcrowded, even on a bustling evening when finding an available table seemed like a lucky break.During our visit, the warmth of the service stood out; the server was engaging, effortlessly fielding our inquiries with grace. Our adventurous appetite led us to select both the spicy chicken and the gold cheese chicken wings - a choice that promised excitement. Admittedly, our anticipation grew as the kitchen, grappling with the evening’s demands, took its time preparing our order. Yet, the wait receded into insignificance once the dishes arrived. Each bite of the chicken, served piping hot and brimming with juiciness, underscored a culinary expertise we couldn’t fault. The flavors were bold, satisfying our craving and then some.The only drawback, albeit a minor one, was the pricing. Very nice workers who were very attentive. The vibe was nice and cozy. Loved the music they played. Our food came out nice and crispy and at a good time. Soy and garlic is the way to go! For our first restaurant in Ottawa it was a very good one.

(BEWARE DO NOT EAT HERE) Please do not eat here, while I was dining in, I saw two cockroaches near my table. I don't know if they clean this place properly but it was very disgusting. The food is alright but the atmosphere was horrendous. There are people yelling in the back and the servers were treated really bad, judging from what I heard. The restrooms were dirty and needs some cleaning.If I saw a few cockroaches near me, there must be an infestation and could contaminate your food, utensils and plates. I wouldn't want to dine here after seeing that.

Maybe they didn't remove the blood from the chicken, but the inside was black and fishy... The seasoning is okay, but the garlic soy sauce is too sparing, so it doesn't cover up the fishy taste, so it's tasteless I had good taste before, so I was looking forward to it, but I was disappointed.

This place used to be my favourite, during covid , before /after covid for the lunch. The portion was really good for the k bowl lunch special. Today I took the same k bowl and when I opened the box,I was very surprised how commercial they became. It was full of rice mainly , just some beef on top of the rice ( like toppings), and small amount of noodles /1 dumpling and cabbage/lettuce as usual.I understand how the price of the grocery went up, but I did not expect this very small quantity of beef and a bowl full of rice from you guys. I mean, please increase the price by a dollar or two if you need to, but provide good quantity of protein to the customers, not just curbs! Customers actually notice all those changes !!

Gave this a try while visiting Ottawa. My feedback from my experience:- Food (1/5): definitely not authentic Korean cuisine, the topokki (1) is sweet and spicy and sauce is to watery, close to being soup. Bibimbap (2) doesn't have carrots. Fried chicken (3) isn't cut in smaller pieces for easier to share in a party of 8 people.- Service (4/5): she was really nice, but she doesn't know much about the dishes.- Environment (2/5): dining area is clean ish, but toilet require some cleaning.Looking at the older pictures, I suspect there might be a new owner. I will look forward to try this place again after few months and hopefully they improve

The food was still good, but the service was not. Our server looked annoyed to be serving us, was not friendly or welcoming, and looked as if they wanted to rush our dine in experience. Overall was not a welcoming environment.

Incredible Korean fried chicken! I chose the spicy sauce on the chicken (or get it on the side) it was so good. Spice but crazy spice. Also got the kimchi soup wow! The service was excellent (younger girl with glasses). Atmosphere a 4 star as it’s nothing special but who cares. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Fried chicken was excellent!! Flavourful, saucy, huge portions. Veggie gyoza was awful, wouldn’t do it again. Very understaffed considering the traffic. Might have only had 1 or 2 people in the kitchen despite a full restaurant and take out orders. One server. Could really do great things if they put some effort into the upkeep and decor - stains on the walls, looking rough, etc. Has potential!

I was looking forward to my dish when I order, because it was always out of stock. Now I ordered 2 set of Gam-ja-tang and both orders are wrong completely wrong. There were supposed to have potato in the dish but I got none. Just tofu and vegetables that's it. The moment I got the dish get back on uber eats and it is out of order. If you don't have the dish don't allow people to order it for god sake
