KARARA The Indian Takeout Reviews
I tried to use the online ordering and my total was $30.40 and they wouldn’t accept my order for delivery if it was under $40. They told me to go use and pay for skip the dishes. What kind of stupidly is that. I’ll never order from your restaurant again here in Barrhaven! That’s not how you run a business.
The food was absolutely amazing! I have eaten at every Indian restaurant in Ottawa and now this is ranked Number One for our family. The Tandoori Fish was out of this world. All dishes were beautifully spiced, fresh and very flavourful. Seriously fantastic!
I ordered dinner for the first time tonight and picked up as they wouldn’t deliver to Halfmoon Bay from Strandheard and Longfields. When I got home, I discovered that my order was missing 2 orders of Samosas and 2 Tamarind Chutneys. I called the store immediately. I spoke to a man who wouldn’t help outside of “on next order, give extra”, I asked if I be credited the cost of the Samosas, simply because it was my first time and I so rarely order. KARARA The Indian Takeout offers flavorful Tandoori Paneer Tikka and good Channa Masala. They provide great service and have plenty of vegan options available. The spice levels are correct, not shying away from spices. The portions are generous, often enough for two meals, and customers frequently mention getting multiple full entrées, rice, papadam, lassi, and even dessert for a small price. Despite some inconsistency in portion sizes, many customers find the meals satisfying and good value. The staff is friendly and attentive, remembering repeat customers and offering warm greetings. They listen carefully to dietary restrictions and are willing to make substitutions and alterations. The small high tables are an extra feature to eat on, but not ideal for a fancy dining experience. The restaurant is recommended for quick North Indian takeout dinners, especially for those who value respectful treatment and affordable prices. Vegetarian options like paneer and vegetable chunks are popular, and the food can be made more spicy upon request. The restaurant is accommodating for dietary restrictions, including gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, and egg-free needs, with no cross-contamination reported. Street parking is available, though it may be hard to find nearby depending on the time. The restaurant is welcoming to children, offering desserts and accepting loud noises without judgment. Overall, KARARA is a good choice for those seeking flavorful Indian takeout, with many customers planning to return.
