Moe's World Famous Newport Restaurant & Donna’s Express

I ordered the chicken kebab with rice and grilled vegetables that comes with a garden salad.

It was *delicious*. The chicken was juicy on the inside and nicely grilled with a hint of char. The grilled vegetables - tomato, peppers, green peppers, mushrooms and onions were that so hard to achieve cooked enough through to be a bit soft, but not mushy, still a bit of crunch and touches of char. The rice was greek-style, long distinct grains with a few shreds of veggies and a nice flavour. Best of all was the fluffy garlic dip with all that aroma and flavour without the pungency that my stomach can't handle. I enjoyed it from start to finish, though I couldn't finish all the rice.

The appetizer salad was standard - a good size, made up of iceberg lettuce, a few chicory leaves, tomatoes, cucumber and a scattering of green onions with their in-house Newport dressing. It was a clear dressing, a nice balance of oil and vinegar.

The place was busy, but not rushed. It was pouring rain, so the patio wasn't open. The service was casual, not rushed or over-attentive, though they disappeared towards the end and had to flag someone down to get our bills.

The ambiance is a melange of dinner, bistro and take-out in several distinct zones - pick your options.

Might be losing its touch

Used to love this place. The food has become awful and portions pathetically small. Ordered a two piece fish the other night. Tiny tasteless pieces of soggy fish, and the Caesar salad was iceberg lettuce with two miniscule slivers of bacon! Total disappointment!! Garbage, never again!!! And I order food from you on a regular basis. You'd think your manager would Quality Assure what goes out on delivery!

Best old-school breakfast in Westboro, no debate, if you're up for waffles, pancakes or a breakfast club. Service is solid, no-nonsense and quick. The selection of fresh pies and desserts is also very tempting, if you're into indulging a sweet tooth.

The breakfast was great. The owner came to our table and introduced himself. He explained that all ingredients are fresh and made from scratch. Honestly, you can tell. Its great food.

Was here on Sunday night for a birthday celebration for my father. He actually comes here once a month with a hobby group and they greeted him like an old friend. Our waitress snatched the last piece of chocolate cake for him and hid it for him! Not only did they light a candle, the entire staff (chefs included!) came out and sang the heartiest Happy Birthday I’ve ever heard. It was the best birthday experience I think I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Everyone came over multiple times to check on us, give dad a pat on the back or just a smile. They really made us feel like family. Thank you so much!

Ate here recently, same great place, same great food! I had the pleasure of chatting with Moe while I was there, if you want to see his face light up ask him about the Elvis sighting society... The menu tells the whole story of the place. Everything is good there, I highly recommend the pizza!

Lovely hearty breakfast. Presentation and taste were very pleasing. The best fruit salad with so much variety. Will be back for sure. Sadly no spotting of Elvis 😉
