Love this place, consistently one of my favourites. The decor is perfect and the cocktails are so fun. It is run by a small staff, so service can be a tad slow, but they are all lovely.

Visited here on a Saturday night to spend time in a place that was a little more relaxed than other options. A great spot for the more introverted crowd who do not want to be in huge groups or have incredibly loud music playing. Very cozy and nostalgic with quick service. Only complaint is that the cocktails are a little bit on the pricier end. However, there are $5 bar rails which is very affordable. There are also games on site that visitors can play which is appreciated.

Very poor service and worse management. They share a kitchen with the restaurant next door and if that restaurant gets busy the service here just goes to garbage. That’s exactly what happened to us for one dish to come out it took more than 45 minutes to the point where we just asked them to pack it to go. And when the server said she will go talk to the manager about some sort of discount and she came back with a sad face saying that the manager said “Kitchen is busy and we can’t control that” so we paid full price and just got out. Night ruined. Never going back there again.

We were greeted with hostility. With no reservations available, we were left to fend for ourselves. I am truly disheartened with the lack of compassion shown to our only slightly underage friend. Overall, a disappointing experience.

I can’t say enough good things about the service last night. Despite the place being incredibly busy, they managed to take care of every guest with professionalism and made incredible cocktails. Their attention to detail and ability to stay organized under pressure were truly impressive.

Restaurantji Recommends
Back in December, we had just gotten married in a small city hall ceremony and were out celebrating our first night as newlyweds. We tried several spots, including some of the typical fancy, expensive restaurants in the ByWard Market, but nothing felt quite right — most spots were rushed, impersonal, and more focused on turning tables than making guests feel welcome. It honestly started to feel like the night might end on a bit of a low note.
Then we walked into Nan’s Parlour, and everything changed.
We hadn’t said anything to the staff about the occasion, but even before knowing why we were dressed up, the servers were incredibly warm and kind. When they asked and found out we had just tied the knot, they didn’t just congratulate us—they celebrated us. They offered us special drinks and went above and beyond to make the night feel magical and memorable.
In a night full of places that made us feel like just another tab, Nan’s made us feel like guests of honour. It was genuine hospitality, and it meant the world to us. We’re so grateful we ended our night there. Thank you to the amazing team, Darren and MacKenzie, at Nan’s for making our night one we’ll never forget!
Highly recommend this spot — not just for the great drinks, but for the heart behind the service.

Came here for cocktails and tried the Big Pim'pin. The cocktail was alright, the flavors to me felt a bit confused, and for the price I wasn't particularly overwhelmed, it was fine though.
The atmosphere was great, a very neat spot with cool decor and vibe.
The service was.also confusing, it took a while for a server to come around, nobody would tell us if we should wait to be seated or just take a table.

This place rocks the Christmas vibes, and serves up some of the best cocktails in the city. After a disappointing experience and hour long wait at the Fairmont elf pub, we fond this place. Vibe, decorations, cocktails and cocktail presentation were not only superb, but put the Fairmont to shame, at a fraction price . We did’t try the food but the menu looks great!

Edit: Sent an email a month ago as you suggested I do, but never received a reply from the manager regarding the situation.
Was looking forward to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere last night, but the service has gone downhill since I’ve last been to Nans. I’ve been coming here since my 1st year of university and I’m now in my 4th, but I was refused to be served last night. I understand that I look young and I don’t often wear makeup when going out, but I always carry two pieces of government ID with me just in case. The staff were incredibly rude and ultimately decided not to serve me. This is very frustrating as I’m almost 22 and didn’t think I would still have so much trouble passing as 19. I respect the fact that it’s completely legal to refuse service but the rude attitude was not necessary. Ended up going to the Aulde Dubliner instead and had a wonderful time. My server there agreed this was “idiotic” and has no idea why they would do that especially after I provided two pieces of government issued ID. The service at Nans used to be amazing but the current staff are dampening that reputation.
