The bagel sandwiches and their fries are incredible, but if I want a combo why do I have to choose a soft drink? Why can't I pay more to get a coffee or sparkling water? Weird rule that doesn't make sense. Take the value of the pop off the drink I want and charge me the difference.

Happy 40th! All the hype going on about the 40th (we didn't know about this place before). Information was $3/dozen Mtl style bagels for saturday 40th anniversary. Let's go. A big line up when we got there in the morning so we decided to go out for breakfast and come back. We came back but were informed the 40th deal expired at 10am. We bought a dozen at the regular price anyways (they only had plain and sesame) to try them. A good customer service gesture would have been a farmer's dozen at least (for even just mentionning the 40th) instead of a 'sorry you are now too late and CTV had the wrong info'. C'est la vie ! Had a bagel when we arrived back home. It was very good.

My son and I have been eating here approximately every Friday, and it’s always been very good. This time, the coffee was not. It was very, very strong. So my son asked to change it. The lady refused to change it. He said, ‘ma’am, the coffee’s not good.’ She completely refused. She didn’t care. I explained that it’s important to serve the customer properly because eventually you will have to look for another job. So do what you’ve got to do. But finally, she did change the coffee. But this is not good customer relationship. So as of now, we’re not going to go there for a while and see what happens.”

Authentic Montreal bagels. There’s a little section to the side for coffee and drinks, as well as lots of fancy jams and spreads for sale!Pricing is reasonable and the quality is AMAZING. You can freeze them for later as well and that’s super convenient.Their cream cheese is to die for and all in all it’s likely the best bagel shop in Ottawa.Parking: Really hard to find parking.Kid-friendliness: Lots of kid friendly options!

Unfortunately, this shop is far from family friendly, or friendly at all. We came this morning with our young children (well-behaved) and were met with gruff attitudes and a confusing store layout. Cafe was busy but store was practically empty of clients.Issues included: staff having zero patience while we took an extra four seconds choosing bagels (moving right along to the next person), staff leaving the counter as we approached and we had to ask an employee to send someone to help us at the deli counter, deli guy basically threw our ham at us without looking when he was finished slicing and bagging, staff giving us the runaround about where to pay for our ham. All of these steps are triple as difficult to navigate with young children in tow who we are trying to teach about the world and manners.Too bad, I came here often as a kid and have fond memories. We won’t be back as we didn’t feel welcome here :/ bagels were alright.

Nice renovations; too bad they can't stand children who are minding their own business. I can't say if the person behind the counter just hates kids or was in a bad mood, but I won't be returning anytime soon.
