Been coming here for years just for the gelato- some of the best around! The pastries (savoury & sweet) are also delicious and staff are always kind & courteous. If you’re in little Italy, definitely check it out!

Amazing treats and friendly staff but it’s over priced. The rating reflects that. They would be wise to lower prices on basics like Italian sodas (which take so few ingredients) and being more local people in. I would also suggest they drop the prices to 50% at the end of the day to sell off their baked goods. I’ve seen lots of bakeries do this in other cities.

On Saturday, July 26, 2025 a newspaper article was written up about the Pasticceria Gelateria Italiana located at
200 Preston Street, going North towards the Ottawa River. it is on the left side between BALSAM + WILLOW.

This establishment is an Italian bar 1 floor up from ground level, with steps the front patio has tables and chairs with an awning for a roof making it quite pleasant to sit outside.

Inside the walls are adorned with achievements awards and some photographs, the display cases are filled with baked goods like pastries, cookies, macarons with beautiful cakes, to your right as you turn the corner there 2 refrigerator display cases which have a variety of gelato along with tables and chairs are around the corner. I order a 2 scope of gelato it cost me $11.00.

Next time I will order a cappuccino. :)

I’ve visited this place a few times with my kids, and unfortunately, twice my younger son found a piece of plastic in his ice cream - it looked like part of a container. The first time, I let it go, but after it happened again, I politely informed the staff, not asking for compensation, just hoping they’d be more careful.

Unfortunately, the person who served us both times responded in a very dismissive and negative tone, insisting it was impossible and refusing to acknowledge the concern. We came back once more today and I kindly asked them to be cautious, given our previous experience - only to receive the same cold and defensive response.

The ice cream is fine, but the customer service has been disappointing. After this, we’ve decided not to return.

In the heart of Little Italy, this business is approximately 1.5km away from Dow's Lake. We went for the gelato, however, when we walked in, there were various deserts, pastries, chocolates, sandwiches and beverages. Lots of sitting space, inside and outside on their patio.

I was looking forward to treating my daughter to something special, but unfortunately, our visit left me disappointed. I ordered one small gelato and one pastry, and the bill came to nearly $18. While I understand that quality can come at a price, this felt excessive for what we received. I couldn’t help but feel taken advantage of. It’s disheartening when something meant to be a simple, joyful outing becomes overshadowed by overpricing. I won’t be returning, and I hope the owners reconsider their pricing to better reflect value and accessibility for families.

Very authentic gelato, pastries, and AFFOGATO. The staff is very nice too. Highly recommended!

The prices are expensive for the quantity. Everything here is overpriced. You are asked to pay before choosing the flavour, which causes you confusion.

Really good gelatto and eclaires, however prices are steep so value per dollar is just ok.

So much to choose from, come prepared for a difficult decision. Gelato, cakes, cookies, and more. A great place to get all sorts of treats, big and small. There's a large seating area inside as well as a porch.
