Took my family to the Purple Cow tonight. After waiting in a long line, we got to the front and mentioned my son’s peanut allergy and asked if it would be possible to get his scoop from a new container in the back and she told us they had no unopened ice cream left in the store. They serve Kawartha ice cream and their company is very good when it comes to sanitation and cleaning lines. I asked if they had Kawartha in the back since they carry two ice cream brands. The person working said that Kawartha has peanuts in their vanilla ice cream so he shouldn’t have Kawartha. Lying to avoid an accommodation is frustrating. If the store does not accommodate, then just say that at the start and I would have no issue. It was a busy night, but would not go back after that experience.

The worse Ice-cream experience ever.
I went my wife and son for a cold treat.
Starting when I went in the employee there i greated her and looked me in the eye and did great back as what the hell not another customer knowing the place was almost empty. My wife ordered New York strawberry cheese cake and moon mist or something like that and I decided to take orange- pineapple and Mango. Neither tasted like what it supposed to taste like. To the extreme I decided to throw it away. I went back in to do and I wanted to confirm if it is was what I ordered and sure thing. Nothing was good. It was horrible. I informed the the other employee nothing tasted like what it suppose to taste. I didn't like either taste and for sure you are suppose to let customers sample before buying. But no it is not allowed with big signs and for sure they should train their employees how to deal with customers. After I informed her about my bad experience. I was expecting them to care. But not a nudge. But she shrugged. Never ever I will go back and never recommend it to any of my friends to go again.

Good ice cream, even better customer service. Their chocolate offerings are delicious, although I didn’t have any today. Huge thanks to the employee who helped us check for wheat in the ice cream for an allergy! Owner: can you please add a tip option for the machine and not just a tip jar.
