I lived in Seoul for a bit and this helps cure my Korean food cravings.
Absolutely amazing!!!
I discovered this lovely business at the Carp Farmers’ Market a few years ago, and ever since I tried their free sample, I’ve been hooked on their kimchi. It’s become a staple in my familiy's kitchen—I use it in meals all the time. My personal favourite is the medium spicy napa cabbage kimchi, which I order almost every month. Everyone involved in the business is incredibly friendly and kind, and their passion really shows in their product.
Another type I really enjoy is the summer-exclusive cucumber kimchi, which is a close second for me. I love mixing it with other kimchi or simply enjoying it with rice—it’s refreshing, flavourful and has a nice crunch to it in a different way.
Recently, they started offering cooking classes around different locations in Ottawa, and I had the pleasure of attending one. It was truly the highlight of my month. The class was hosted by the amazing team at Roan Kitchen, and walking through the process of making kimchi with them was both fun and educational. The class was extremely beginner-friendly—they had all the ingredients laid out ahead of time and even provided a printed recipe sheet that included not just kimchi, but several side dishes and meal ideas to use it in.
At the end of the class, we were treated to one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We had gimbap, kimchi pancakes, various types of kimchi, and a selection of banchan. It was, without a doubt, the best Korean food I’ve ever had. I made sure to take plenty of leftovers home with me.
One of my favorite go-to meals using their kimchi is a simple bowl of rice topped with two fried eggs, kimchi, and—when I have it—some sliced steak or brisket. It’s something I enjoy a few times a week after school. It’s comforting, delicious, and healthy.
Their kimchi is always crunchy, crisp, and perfectly balanced with spices. It’s well-fermented by the time you buy it but continues to keep well in the fridge. I’ve had tubs last for months—if anything, the flavor just deepens over time, but it’s still absolutely delicious.
Overall, this is for sure the best kimchi I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend this to anyone curious about Korean cuisine or looking to try something new. Whether you’re a longtime fan of kimchi or a first-timer, you’ll find something to love here. I’ll definitely continue ordering regularly—and I can’t wait to attend another cooking class.
We hired Raon Kitchen to provide catering services for our wedding and they absolutely delivered - we are so grateful for Hana and her team! From the beginning, they were extremely easy to communicate with and put together an amazing menu for us. When our RSVPs were finalized and we identified the long list of dietary restrictions, Raon Kitchen was so flexible in providing alternatives! They also had a lot of gluten-free and nut/dairy-free dishes, which helped. Additionally, we were able to do a tasting with them on short notice and everything was fantastic! On the day of, Hana and her team delivered all the dishes in a timely manner, which helped us set up the buffet quickly. My husband and I heard so many raving compliments about the food throughout the night and weeks after the wedding! We would absolutely hire Raon Kitchen again, and highly recommend them for larger events. Thank you Hana :)
The gochujang I bought (fermented red chili paste version) is soooo good! I put it on nearly everything now. It’s a beautiful flavour and spice level. The staff who run the farmers’ market stall are super informative and friendly as well!
Great Kimchi from the farmer’s market!
I love this place, they sell GREAT Kimchi and for a person who likes spicy it was REALLY GOOD, spice level is great and the ratio from cabbage to chili is AMAZING! 100% Recommend for someone who enjoys spicy.
I got their beef bibimbap ($14) when they were at the Parkdale Market and it was so good! It was a good meat to toppings and rice ratio. I got all the toppings which included kimchi, cabbage, carrots, and surprisingly earwood fungus. Super delicious and tasted clean and fresh compared to what you’d typically get from a Korean restaurant.

Finally got around to placing an order and was not disappointed! Really enjoyed the kimbap and beef bibimbaps! Will be ordering again!
I have been a customer for many years and really miss the lunch take-out location and their menu. However I am thankful that we can still get their sauces, kimchi and limited menu items. We order at least once a month.

Went to their stand in the Lansdowne Farmer's market on Sunday and met the two lovely ladies there, who were so friendly and lovely and helped me picked the right spiciness level fo kimchi which is some of the best I've tried. They also have really good bibimbap which mixes all the right flavours. Highly recommended.
