Had been coming here on occasion over the years. It wasn't a chain and the food and service were consistent. Not the case now...the place smells when you walk in, there was no staff on the floor (we waited to be greeted), very few other patrons, no music.

The food - if you are a half decent cook, then don't bother, you will be more than disappointed. The brushetta was a joke, (random white bread cut lengthwise, some tomato, covered in half melted cheese and splashed with balsamic vinegar) looked like a 5 year old made it. Mozzarella sticks - run of the mill. I had the steak, asked to be cooked medium rare, it came as a well done charred puck with a basically raw side of veggies. I had a side of Alfredo and my son had the chicken Alfredo - terrible. Service was also incredibly slow with less than 5 tables in use.

We were a party of 3 and had 2 apps, 3 mains, a side and 3 fountain drinks and desserts $160+ 🙃 Unreal! My favorite thing was always the coconut cream pie. I few years back I noticed the crust was no longer homemade and I was a little miffed but still enjoyed it. This time the store bought crust wasn't even cooked 👎

The atmosphere, service and food were all laughable. Not sure if ownership has changed but I'm over it. These people would benefit from watching some food network. Might learn something 😉

I'm sure I could even teach you a thing or two. Here's some of my food for reference:

We have been going to the Red Dot for years now, but in the last 6 months it has been going downhill. Even the food is not like it was before. No free wifi, and if you go to watch the Blue Jay games forget it they DO NOT HAVE SPORTSNET. I know what bar doesn't have Sportsnet!!! Sometimes people like to go out and watch a game and have a few pints...but not there...... Not impressed.. Food not so good, no free wifi and no Sportsnet.

Whether you live in the area or you're passing through, I highly recommend this gem. Great atmosphere, lovely people, delicious food. Seafood Fettuccine and Sticky Toffee Cake were incredible. Portions are generous. Thank you to chef Rohan for the excellent meal and to server Maddie who was just so delightfully thoughtful. Good vibes all around :)

Since the new owners took over it's definitely worth a visit. The staff were amazing the food was delicious. I had the burger with onion rings yummy and hubby has Jambalaya (not hot) but great taste.

This place is no joke!! I just had the best crab cake Benedict I ever had. Actually it’s also the first crab cake Benny I ever had too lol 😆 seriously everything was delicious!

I’m sad to say this place has gone down hill. I’m not sure if it’s new ownership or just careless wait staff and management. I am a regular and have been coming here for years and I will now never come back. Due to multiple incorrect orders, raw food and rude wait staff. I even tried just switching to take out to avoid the staff but were receiving incorrect orders. We were missing food, had food with the wrong toppings or sauces. When we started checking our orders at pick up the waitress said “yeah that’s a good idea to check, I don’t trust the cook on today.” When dinning in I showed the waitress the uncooked chicken and I was told I was wrong that’s just how it looks. When looking for staff they either can’t be found or are just staring at a wall. There is an even longer list of issues but you get gist. Over all very disappointed.

Great food, great service, very reasonable prices!!!

Disappointing. Small portions, expensive and poor quality. Don’t waste your time. Apparently the chef said they do not make a toasted western.

Party of 6, liver and onion overcook, lamb had hardly any meat on it mostly bones, fish taco was make with 1 fish stick that you buy at grocery store and loaded with coleslaw and nothing else in it. Water was tap which tasted like well water. Will not go back, not worth 165$

They said they were short staffed but still got our food and drinks in great time. Very kind servers, good atmosphere, excellent food.
Ask for a gluten free menu and they will bring a menu with both gluten *friendly* and gluten free options.

We went here with family right at opening, including a 2 year old. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the food was very good. I've been here several times before and always enjoy the food and atmosphere. And presentation gets an A as well. You don't feel rushed which is also something rare at restaurants. Cobb salad, Nachos, Beef Dip and Chicken wrap all got ?. Thank you Red Dot for running a pro show!
