My friend and I had a wonderful, warm, very tasty dinner at Sidedoor last week. It was a bitterly cold evening, but once inside the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. I'd highly recommend this spot for friends, colleagues and celebrations. The only thing I would note, is that the entrance to the resto on York St. is closed (due to construction) and after parking the car, we had to walk around the block to a George St. access point. As noted, it was bitterly cold, and we would have appreciated a heads up to the situation.
We had a nice time for a BD party there for a friend. While the food did not completely blew me away, we still enjoyed ourselves quite nicely, I would recomment asking for spicy mayo and sauces like soy siracha etc to complement.
The entrance is a bit hard to find due to construction right now...but awesome service!

It’s a nice place. The location is lovely, with lots of seating it’s a good spot for larger groups. Friday lunch was quieter so the conversation flowed. I had a simple dish of chicken and Brussels sprouts, I found it quite salty but that’s a personal preference. It was nice.

One of the best date nights ever. Jeff is a great server and really let us enjoy our time here.

Loud, busy environment. Host/Hostess seemed very inexperienced and awkward to the point of making others uncomfortable. We felt unwelcome here despite having made our reservation far in advance. Unfortunately I would not return based on my experience here.
Exceptional. One of the best spots in the city. We got the tasting menu, which turned out to be a great value - just bring an appetite!
Great food and atmosphere. Staff was very attentive.

Overall great restaurant. We stopped without a reservation. We were 2 adults and a child and there was already some office event but we were warmly welcomed and seated. Our waiter was fast and friendly. Food was rrally delicious. Everything we tried was good.

We enjoyed our experience at Sidedoor. I had cod, which was quite good, but the sides were a little bland. Lots of the food could be described as “Asian fusion” but this mostly seemed to mean very spicy sauce on the meat. Service was top notch and our servers were very accommodating and quick. The restaurant is multi-level, at least for events, which makes the experience a little unconventional in the dining room.

We got the best of side door tasting menu with bottle of new zealous white wine. The food was outstanding, I would have just preferred if they did not serve the curry dish at the same time as the other meat dish at the end since it felt like a lot and I was already full. Could have been fit in elsewhere along the way. Again the food was great and you definitely leaving very satisfied. They forgot my special request for champagne when we sat down but that's ok. Overall, very good place for a cute date and good food.

It was the first time we had visited this restaurant and we were there for a small team dinner. The set dinner for $75 per person was extraordinary. Delicious, delicious and even more delicious. The only element that was a little less extraordinary were donuts for dessert. They were very tasty, but they felt less than the rest of the dinner. One of our group is a self proclaimed chicken fingers-girl and she loved the sashimi - we have created a new foodie. We all agreed we would recommend it and go again.
