No longer a location
Shameful quality and selection. The food are provided by a third party and served regardless the quality... I think our government should not tolerate the quality.

The hotel was in a central location easy to walk around and enjoy the sites. The room was large, updated, clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back on our next trip to Ottawa.
Excellent hotel. I love staying at the Lord Elgin when I go to Ottawa. The staff is friendly, the location is right downtown and the hotel has this old English vibe. I love it! I highly recommend the Lord Elgin hotel for anyone who is staying in Ottawa.
The hotel has alot of history, it is still very nice, well kept, comfortable, modernized. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, modern. The hotel is also in a great location, very close to several attractions.
0/10 not clean no parking almostgot a ticket on the 1st day infront of the hotel valet very slow car came back smelling like smoke. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone ever breakfast is over priced and basic
Family of 4 with two young children stayed at the Lord Elgin over the Family Day long weekend. It is a great location and looks beautiful from the outside. We walked to the Parliament and other sites which was very convenient. The front desk staff were not very helpful during check-in. We were also disappointed with having to use valet service which was about $40/day. The kids enjoyed the breakfast although the service was a bit slow. We made good use of the pool and hot tub with the kids as well. The room itself was a bit small but I guess did the job, it seemed a bit run down. We had major issues with noise during both nights which impacted our impression of the hotel. On the first night, a woman was outside in the hall yelling "9-1-1" for a very long time. It was so disturbing that my husband had to leave our room at midnight to see what was going on. This woke up the entire family and my daughter was scared for the rest of our time at the hotel. The woman appeared high or ill so we ended up calling down to the front desk to notify security. On the second night, people were running up and down the halls and we again called down to notify front desk. I guess these things may come with staying at a downtown location, but we wouldn't return back.
Disappointing The building itself is beautiful. They’ve kept much of the original architectural details. We booked an upgraded, park view, king suite. Our ceiling had several repairs that were not finished. Don’t know how long that detail has been missed. The layout was nice but we found the bed on the hard side. Appreciated that the windows could open. Restaurant was disappointing. Ate lunch our first day and, although the Buddha bowl sounded great, it was fairly bland. Breakfast the next morning was terrible. Eggs were not cooked as ordered. Was not the fault of the kitchen, as the server didn’t listen well. Another server rectified it for us. “Home fries” were frozen wedges that were much much too salty, and hard. Bacon seemed coated with something. Very disappointing. Website advertises a Sunday breakfast brunch but there was not one. Would not stay again.

The location of this hotel is great. All staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was excellent. The eggs benedict (with peameal ham) were the best I’ve eaten and the salmon in puff pastry was excellent. The Rideau canal hadn’t opened yet but we walked across the street and skated at the Rink of Dreams which was lovely.
Perfect hotel for easy walking access to all the key sites of Ottawa. Also has a number of very nice bars and restaurants with easy walking distance. Hotel accommodation and service very good and very much enjoyed our stay. Parking was easy and efficiently done.
Excellent service, staff went above and beyond meeting our needs. Rooms were very clean nd comfortable Restaurant a bit pricy but not out of the ordinary Excellent location close to many restaurants and other amenities
Stayed at the Lord Elgin for 3 nights, lovely hotel. Clean & comfortable & staff were all very helpful and good choice of food for breakfast. The hotel is ideally situated for a good choice of bars and restaurants and the tourist attractions are easily located.
They don’t know how to make drinks and no customer service skills at all
