Starling Restaurant and Bar

I came to this restaurant for the first time and enjoyed my experience. They have a lounge downstairs named, Apothecary Lounge, which I've been to for cocktails before. My friend and I were seated downstairs in the lounge. I had the vegan bolognese and loved it. The bread was so soft. Staff members were very professional and friendly.

Waitress forgot one of our orders and made them wait half a hour while we all ate infront of them. Food was undercooked and serverwhatever was rude.

My husband and I got married at Starling last May with 80 of our favourite people! Though you may not initially think of Starling for weddings, it truly was the best decision we made. The restaurant was so easy to work with, the location can’t be beat, and the vibes that night were immaculate. Rory (their event coordinator) if you read this, you were our guardian angel for the lead up and execution of the day. We literally could not have done it without you and are forever grateful for all the above and beyond effort and love you put into our day. To the waitstaff, bartenders, and kitchen staff, we received an endless amount of raving reviews on the food, the dinner service, and the service at the bar. Our vision was a party with our favourite people and you exceeded our expectations. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much Starling for making our day easy and unforgettable.

I can definitely see this fine establishment being a premier place to go in the city fantastic service great cocktails. The meal was fantastic. Start to finish. Taste delicious fantastic presentation. My steak was a perfect medium rare. Best steak I’ve had from a restaurant in forever, will definitely be going back.

We visited this place with my girls. As soon as we sat down, the waiters immediately asked if we wanted coffee, which seemed a bit strange. After about 15 minutes, a waiter finally came to take our order and only then informed us that they have separate lunch and dinner menus, so we needed to choose from a different one. I would highly recommend informing guests about the menu options first, instead of asking about coffee right away.

The food was okay, but nothing special—for the price, I expected more. Additionally, we had to wait a long time just to request the bill and pay. Only the atmosphere was nice 🤷‍♀️

The food was okay, the portions were large enough and probably at the usual (higher) Canadian prices. But I would like to highlight the particularly great service: Joelle served and served, she was super friendly and accommodating - thank you very much!

Continues to be a staple restaurant for me, always eat their Steak and Frites. Wine selection is wonderful, the Pinot Grig I had was delicious and not too sweet, just dry enough. Dealers choice was such a great shot, bartenders are awesome there!
