I ordered beef suya combo which was supposed to come with plantain at the least, but all I got was meat and red onion for almost $30. Not worth it as well as the meat did not taste fresh, unfortunately this place is a hit or miss sometimes the food is great sometimes it’s terrible.

Now I been to this place about 5 times, dined twice. My experience with the food is good! However, The service and ambiance, not feeling it, the location of the place is not great especially for parking options. It's lacking class, I didn't like the fact that I had to go downstairs via elevator in basement to use bathroom. It's not vibrant, the staff mannerism is just lacking! I never get checked on or asked how my dining experience is going. There is no connection between the staff and customers with interaction and positive energy. You feel like a ghost in there. We need rapport to connect! I'm not impressed with with service at all. The food was good , I will continue to pick up On occasion but not sit and dine as I'm not feeling the vibes. Overall rating 3.5/10 that's due to service. Needs heavy improvement!

Cockroaches! I dined in a group of 4 on june 13th, and had a cockroach crawl onto the face of one of my friends as we were sitting to eat. We were eating dinner as the sun was still up and the restaurant was well lit, which is an extra concerning considering how cockroaches are usually afraid of lights, and it could indicate a pretty severe infestation.

I had another bad experience on a different occasion when I ordered jollof rice from this restaurant. The rice that was given to me was badly burnt and had a strong burnt smell and taste. It was not edible, and this shows a serious lack of quality control in the kitchen.

This is becoming a repeated issue with this restaurant—poor food quality, wrong items, and no real effort to improve even after customers complain. It feels like they do not take customer complaints seriously at all.

If this continues, I will have no choice but to raise a formal complaint and request that the restaurant be investigated by the appropriate authorities in Ottawa, since they seem unwilling to fix their attitude toward food quality and customer service.

Customers are paying for proper food and service, not burnt food and poor treatment. This restaurant really needs to improve their standards.

I am very disappointed with my experience at Suya Palace. I ordered eforiro soup that was supposed to come with beef, cow leg, and tripe (shaki), but what I received was completely different — just two small chunks of beef, mostly fat, and the soup was filled with oil. This is not what I paid for.

What makes it worse is that this is not the first time. This is about the fourth time this has happened, which clearly shows a pattern. Every time you complain, they act like they are sorry, but nothing ever changes. It feels like they just don’t care about customers.

Customer service is also very poor. One of the staff members was extremely rude and had no manners when speaking to customers, which made the whole experience even more frustrating.

If you cannot provide what you advertise on the menu, then you should not list it. Customers deserve honesty, proper portions, and respect. I will not be ordering from here again unless things improve.

As a Nigerian myself, I have had my fair share of egusi, but this is the most bland, oily egusi I have ever had. It was white and tasted like raw palm oil. I had such high hopes especially since the food was $36 for the egusi and poundo. I really am disappointed for a Nigerian restaurant.

Excellent Nigerian food and atmosphere at this location. The food is somewhat spicy personally however, the spice levels could be too much for people who don’t normally eat spicy food. I recommend getting a split of the Suya and Chicken. Portions are amazing and drinks are on the house. Plantains, Jollof rice and coleslaw are all included with a Suya platter creating great value for the $30 (15% tip included) thay you’ll be spending!

Wait time was quick as myself and two friends were the only patrons around 8pm on a snowy night. Food was served quick and the staff were extremely friendly. Dining area was ambient, plentiful with views of the street and Nigerian music playing at an appropriate volume in the background.

Recommended for anyone wanting to experience Nigerian food or test their spice levels without spending too much money!
