Our first meal at the Clarendon for some time. The menu is good: lots of interesting pizzas, bowls. etc. The Moroccan Orange cake was particularly nice. Service was attentive and friendly.

An Exceptional Lunch Experience. I reserved a table for lunch and was greeted warmly upon arrival. The maître d' recognized me immediately and graciously offered several seating options to accommodate my preferences—a small but meaningful touch that set the tone for the meal ahead. The dining room itself is bathed in natural light, lending the space an open, inviting quality. Tables are generously spaced, affording guests a sense of privacy and comfort that is increasingly rare. Service throughout was exceptional. Our server demonstrated genuine attentiveness, anticipating needs without intrusion and ensuring the meal progressed at an unhurried yet efficient pace. The flatbread-based dishes proved to be the highlight. Each was beautifully presented, prepared with evident care, and portioned ideally for one person. The flavors were well-balanced and the execution impeccable. In sum, this was a thoroughly satisfying dining experience. I would not hesitate to return and recommend it without reservation to anyone seeking an excellent lunch destination.

This was our party of 4 first visit to the Clarendon. We went for brunch offered on weekends only. The Eggs Florentine (the poached eggs took first place as the best we've ever had), The Traditional Benedict and Clarendon Breakfast were delicious and all became instant favorites. The service timely and attentive. The only reason we rated the food 4.5 rather than 5 star was that it could have been hotter for our taste. We would not hesitate to recommend the brunch menu to anyone looking for a cozy, relaxing, warm, clean and comfortable ambient setting. We will definitely be back! Thank you to the chef and staff of The Clarendon for making our visit an enjoyable one.

Nice brunch spot in ByWard Market, especially on Christmas Day when options are limited. The Eggs Royale was mediocre. It was okay but nothing memorable. That said, the atmosphere was good for brunch, lively and relaxed, which made the experience pleasant. In terms of the price, it’s a pretty affordable place for brunch in Ottawa.

As it is the holidays, I'd like to reminisce on last week's dinner. I had the honor to dine amongst family and friends in the Clarendon Tavern's warm and cozy environment.

The table ordered some appetizers, and afterwards a main dish of their own. I ordered the 'Clarendon Burger' with toppings of bacon jam, dill pickle mayo, shredded iceberg lettuce, and cheddar cheese atop a warm brioche bun. It was splendid.

My date ordered the 'Half Chicken'. A roasted half chicken with Yukon gold mash and colorful seasonal vegetables, served with a roasted chicken velouté. The portion size more than generous.

The conversations amongst each table were lovely; happy birthdays, catching up, and celebrating each other for all the things we've accomplished this year. The Clarendon Tavern is truly the place for every occasion.

To end the night, I shared a plate of 'Cheesecake'. A white chocolate cheesecake with a classic crust, topped with caramelized white chocolate and fresh berries. Divine.

Thank you to everyone at the Clarendon Tavern, you were more than wonderful hosts, see you soon and Merry Christmas!

it was a quiet Sunday night, all the cocktails were fantastic, and the server was well educated on them, we had a variety of food. The pork chop was fantastic, the meatballs are great, the butter, chicken cauliflower tofu dish did not quite hit the mark. overall, though for the type of restaurant, this was high-quality and completely met expectations

Clarendon is one of my favourite restaurants in Ottawa, and my most frequented for sure. I've been meaning to write a review for so long. The food is excellent, the cocktails are creative and delicious. The happy hour is such a great deal, at a great time. The bathrooms are on the main level (very important to me and uncommon) and very clean. The patio is wonderful. The atmosphere/decore/vibe are really nice. 10/10. Most recently I was here with some friends for brunch (the brunch menu and brunch drinks are so so good) - one of my favourite brunch places in Ottawa for sure. We were served by Fab (I don't know how to spell his full name) and he was amazing he had such great energy and put us all in a great mood. Val is also amazing and always there when I'm there, she's so lovely and always remembers me and is so kind. The staff are always warm and friendly. There is nothing negative to say about this place! :)

Have come in here several times for the weekend brunch. Well prepared and delicious food, friendly staff - go for the Mimosa bar if you are feeling indulgent, or try their mocktails which are really good. Cozy place on a chilly morning in winter and fun spot for drinks later in the day/evening. Worth your time.

We were charged a crazy amount for are cake cutting fee. We were not informed at all of the cost. The service was very show. 25% of the tip was added to all of are bills even tho the service was very slow. Waitress was nice tho. Food was good. My birthday cake (that | brought came to the table already cut and all of the decorations that I had placed on the cake was gone. Asked for my decorations at the end of are stay and everything was thrown out in the garbage

We met our relatives here for lunch. They are locals with a great knowledge of the food scene.
The restaurant is a gorgeous space. The food was tasty but it shouldn’t have taken almost an hour for 4 lunch orders to come out. Our server apologized a few times.
There’s some new competition very close by. Perhaps now is a good time to focus on service.
