Went for my birthday after walking past the outdoor patio a few weeks ago, the scenery was absolutely beautiful (we went the end of June) all of the staff was friendly and helpful, noise level was fine, a decent amount of people and I was still able to hear my date. The food I was disappointed in, I got the 4 cheese pizza and maybe it's a me thing but it wasn't what I was expecting, no sauce and a floral/sweet taste that didn't hit my preference. My date got the braised beef which was good but the potatoes were sooooo salty and I like salty foods and I was choking up, we definitely finished our waters. The outdoor section is almost worth going back again.
Service was terrible. It took over an hour to get our food. The dishes where good, but the restaurant was not that busy and most tables around d us waited a very long time for their order.
Good food, great service, chilled atmosphere. Reliable spot for casual dining in the market area.
Service was very attentive, the fig and prosciutto pizza was excellent. I'd definitely go again.
The ambiance really is lovely. The server was great but the food and drinks were pretty slow to come out. Food was very tasty (potatoes a bit too salty) but the rest of the dishes were delicious!
Flatbread was great. Steak mains not great. Too long a wait to be greeted at the table. Indifferent attitude if server. Great cocktails
One of the nicest downtown spots for a casual meal. Great ambiance, delicious menu, and service was 10/10. Great place to take visitors when they come to Ottawa.
We had excellent service for our large group of 12. Half price wine on Wednesday was a wonderful surprise. Food was solid. Overall a great dinner!
Good and attentive service from Sabrina. Was keen to ensure we had everything we needed and showed a good understanding of service. Very pleasant and well informed.
From the first step inside, to the drinks and the food. The Hyde is an amazing experience that the pictures do not do it justice. Will be returning.

Pretty empty at that day and time. They should use the drinks menu from the Hyde as the Clarendon ones aren't as great.
We were visiting Ottawa for the weekend and ended up making reservations here with friends that live in Ottawa (it was their first time going there too). We had a great time! Our food was really good and the drinks were spectacular (both in taste and presentation)! The vibe of the place is perfect for dinner or a night out - great vibe, music and ambiance! And the staff was attentive, especially our bartender. Will be back the next time we visit Ottawa!
The cocktail, Victoria’s Secret, was deliciously sweet and refreshing. I ordered the fish and chips, which tasted good, but the portion size left something to be desired. It felt more like a plate of fries with a small salad and a modest piece of fish rather than a hearty meal. My friends enjoyed their food overall, but it wasn’t particularly memorable. The squash salad wasn't very squashy but was very oniony, something was missing my friends said. The flavors were decent, but the portions and presentation didn’t quite match the price or expectations. Great ambiance, though, which made for a pleasant dining experience. Last but not least, waitress was exceptionally friendly, thank you for that.
