A number of annoying things about this bar. First of all, the meal was not served together for a large group. Some people were done eating by time the meals of others arrived. Second, it was card only, no cash! So sick of this.

bad service - servers didn’t even acknowledge us while we were waiting at the door. preston has tons of better places to pop into so won’t bother with this place again. looks like a dive without any charm

Yanik was awesome. He was extremely attentive to our large group (25 people), remembering all our orders, fulfilling all our numerous requests, keeping track of all our seat changes and even managing to keep our complicated bills straight. When I lost my phone and couldn’t find it anywhere, Yanik found it for me.
Thank you very much - Gwendolyn B

Sat there and waited while the server walked to the big parties. Terrible service we not recommend going there.

Staff was fantastic, and the food was excellent! The venue had live music and plenty of activities — mini putt, magician shows, and more (I forgot some, but there really seems to be something for everyone!). There’s also lots of paid parking nearby.
I had the meatball bowl with cheese — and all I can say is WOW! My dad had a massive meatball sandwich, and my mom had pasta with red sauce — both really enjoyed their meals. I had a wonderful evening and will definitely be back!

Went to watch some NFL and experience the Sunday brunch
Every one of the 10 TV's had the same game playing???
Staff couldn't figure out how to get additional games on multiple TV's
Eventually got 2 games showing
The brunch buffet was ICE COLD
You could see the flames blowing in the wind underneath the shaefing dishes. They simply didn't generate any heat to keep the food warm.
On more than one occasion had to flag down a sever or go directly to the bar area to get service
The place was almost empty.
After this experience, I can see why there was only about 10 customers total in the entire restaurant/bar
Very very disappointing

We bought tickets to a Halloween party but they decided to play the world series super loud first and you really couldn't do anything except watch baseball until it was over at 11 something. I couldn't even hear to have a conversation with the people at my table. Obviously this wasn't the typical night, but it was disappointing to go for one thing and be stuck with something that was not at all what I signed up for. Granted they did get a Halloween party going after baseball, but a) it was late by then and I had planned to leave at 11 and b) what would they have done if the game had gone for extra innings? Turned it off and upset the baseball fans? Left it going and completely cancelled the Halloween party they sold tickets to? I don't know what it's like on a normal night, but their event planning is seriously questionable.

Remember when The Prescott was the place to be? Loud, proud, and full of that old-school Ottawa charm; where the beer was cold, the pizza was greasy, and the crowd was real. Sadly, those days are long gone.
I stopped by recently, hoping for a dose of nostalgia. What I got instead was a masterclass in mediocrity. The food? Fine. The service? Passable. The vibe? Nonexistent. It’s as if they’re coasting on the memory of what used to be rather than caring about what is.
But here’s the real kicker: they don’t accept cash anymore.
Let that sink in. A restaurant that’s been a cornerstone of Ottawa’s working-class history now turning up its nose at legal tender. The same cash that built this country’s small businesses and kept local economies alive.
You can’t tell me that refusing to accept government-issued currency; the literal definition of money - is “progress.” It’s not. It’s control. It’s part of this creeping culture of convenience where your wallet, your privacy, and your choices all belong to someone else’s system.
And for what? To shave 10 seconds off a debit tap?
To “modernize” at the expense of principle?
News flash: not everyone wants their every purchase tracked, traced, and taxed into oblivion. And every business that forgets who it serves; the customer, is going to find that loyalty is harder to earn when you start drawing lines at the till.
The Prescott used to be a place for everyone.
Now it’s just another casualty of compliance; another Ottawa spot trading authenticity for algorithms.
Mediocre food I can forgive.
But refusing cash? That’s where you lose me.
⭐️⭐️ — for nostalgia, not for nerve.
