Amazing service Amazing drinks. Good all around

I was there last Tuesday, clearly understaffed when we got there. No big deal, I worked in the service industry for too long so I’m ok with stuff like that, I know things will take longer than usual, it happens, all good.

What I’m not willing to be ok with is the waitress attitude. Condescending, rude and just enough for me to not go back again.

Minimum tip possible was 18%. Not deserved but also, I knew it’d be our last time there so once again, all good.

Jenny is an incredible bartender who made our night a special one to remember. We will be back soon!

Good value and good service. Not especially fancy but very welcoming to all. Decent kids menu. Good happy hour deals. It had a good crowd for the Canada-Switzerland FIFA match and was fun/busy.

Amazing patio for people watching

I've lived in Hintonburg for 45 years and have tried every restaurant that has come and gone.
For years Royal Oak Wellington Street offered an incomplete 🤔 dining experience. That's changed dramatically with new menu items, Lobster menu specials and the addition of Celine as my waitress.
She has reawakened a somewhat deadpan experience of the past into an exceptional experience for me and my dog Zoey, my 11 year old Chihuahua who loved the attention and the kind cup of water offered.
To be honest, i'd tired of the past laizayfair menu and hadn't dined for months at Royal Oak.
That's about to change with Celines presence and the needed menu upgrade.
Prices are still high but it's Hintonburg Westboro so expect what you pay for

Although the food is usually great here, today’s fish n chips special was very disappointing. The fish was very thin, while the batter was very thick. The result was mostly batter.

We had lunch last Saturday on the patio and I cannot say enough AMAZING things about our experience! The food was beyond fantastic. My uncle had the burger, my mom had the fish and chips and I had the turkey sandwich with cranberry and mayo with salad. It was extraordinary! And I need to express that the Caesar was the BEST Caesar that I have ever had in my life! Our waitress was fabulous too! Hats off to you all!

A group of my old uni buddies and I showed up tonight without any notice and the bartender was so accommodating. Jenny was awesome. What made me leave this review is because I watched her have to deal with what I would call downright rude customers at the same time as us. Yet she never lost her cool. Top tier person. Bonus: very well versed in pop culture (Seinfeld) and best Playlist I have heard in a bar. Thank Jenny!

Gave this a couple of tries. Not great. Server spent more time talking to her friends who stopped by (which is fine), but 45 minutes of talking, then going away for another 20 minutes is a bit much (this has happened before). I had an empty glass like a lot of people around me for a long time. I work in the service industry, so I have a lot of empathy for anyone else working the same job, but thats a bit much. I would’ve bought more drinks if the staff was actually around, but they weren’t. Don’t recommend.

10 ladies celebrating 2 birthdays. Our server was great, our food came out quickly and nice and hot. I had the flatbread all Canadian, it was crispy, cheesy with lots of pepperoni and big chunks of bacon. Very good, would definitely order again. She easily gave us all separate bills, all the while serving a busy restaurant, seemingly all by herself. Great spot, they even had a singer who was playing some fun 90’s hits. Large paid Parking lot in the rear.

Had a nice dinner date with my wife. I liked all the mini lights, great ambiance. I had the curry with vegetarian substitution of breaded cauliflower. It was very good!
