University Tavern Reviews
Nancy and Rita run a fantastic restaurant, they are very warm and inviting! The hot turkey & fries with a side of homemade chicken noodle hit the spot. They added a side of soup to Tiffany’s chicken Caesar. You can tell they put a lot of love into their food.
We will come back soon!
Thanks ladies!
You don't go here for the ambiance but the food and service are really good! It's a locally run family owned restaurant that has been around forever! They won't let you down.

The University Tavern is a long-standing, family-owned restaurant that has been serving the community for years. The food and service are praised as delicious and friendly, with a quick turnaround on orders. The staff are described as welcoming, and the beer, though inexpensive, may not be the most carbonated. It is a reliable choice for a good meal.
The restaurant is known for its friendly owner who takes the time to get to know the customers and provide a great dining experience. Its homely environment and the kindly attitude of the staff make it stand out. Customers have enjoyed delicious pizza and Salisbury steak, and praise the fast, efficient service that is always served with a smile. The restaurant has been operating for over 60 years, offering food and drinks at very reasonable prices. The atmosphere is friendly, and the service is considered super.
Recently, customers have shared heartfelt stories about the place. One said it feels like home the moment you walk in, with food that tastes like your mom is in the kitchen cooking your favorite meal—comforting, fresh, and made with love. The prices are considered amazing, with chicken wings for $14.99 and a whole pitcher of beer for $16, offering great value. Another customer mentioned that the owner once caught a thief who stole a family heirloom and convinced him to pursue a better life. They also praised the blueberry pie as "slapping." Despite some unusual incidents, like a giant box of piranhas accidentally tipped over and causing chaos, the restaurant’s friendly environment and good food remain top highlights. Overall, the University Tavern continues to be a warm, welcoming spot for good food, drinks, and excellent service that makes customers feel like family.
