I usually only go for breakfast since they have the best breakfast in the city. But now after having dinner here for the first time tonight, I will definitely come back. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly and you get lots of fresh cut fries and a side of ceaser salad and coleslaw and fresh gravy and pesto sauce. See attached image. All for $21. You can't buy a decent stake for that price. So if you are ever in the Westboro part of Ottawa, go to Wellington Diner! 5 stars

Above and beyond!!! Love the old style dinner, with the retro vibe. The food was delicious, yummy and satisfying. Their coffee was really good too!! And the waitress was a cherry on top. Everything was above and beyond. Love their hospitality and the ambience. A must go place at least once !! I am there every week at least 😉

Stopped in for breakfast on our way home, after our weekend in Ottawa. Service was terrific... Quick, pleasant and they made sure my coffee was always full. Food was delicious and came exactly as we ordered it. Perfect brunch vibe, highly recommend.

We had such a great breakfast experience at The Wellington Diner and will absolutely be back. From the moment we walked in, everything was fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—what really stood out was how attentive the service was. Even staff members who weren’t our server stopped by to offer refills on coffee and water, which really added to the overall positive experience.
The menu has a great variety with something for everyone. I ordered the Québecois breakfast and it was absolutely delicious—great portions and everything cooked perfectly. My fiancé had the carnivore breakfast poutine, which is his go-to favourite and it did not disappoint. The coffee was hot and fresh, and I also had a virgin Caesar, which was super tasty and well-balanced.
The diner itself was very clean and had a comfortable, classic feel to it. We went early enough that we were seated right away with no wait time, which made the whole morning even better.
Overall, it was just a great experience all around—excellent service, great food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a solid breakfast spot in Ottawa.
