The food has amazing flavour and the service was very nice. But… if you are expecting to go for Mexican with Mexican sized portions you will be sorely let down. The prices are extremely high for snack sized portions.

There’s a real discrepancy between the menu prices and the quality of the food. The dishes were bland, lacking much flavor, and overall tasted more like cafeteria food than a proper restaurant meal. The service started off on a great note, but then we were left sitting for over 30 minutes until we finally had to go looking for our server in the back. I love Zak’s Diner, so I was especially disappointed that the sister restaurant didn’t come close to the same standard.

This place feels like a hidden gem. The decor is inviting and fun. We had our meal in the bus, which is fun for both kids & adults. We ordered the burrito bowls, which were so flavourful, warm and filling. I will definitely try to get here again next time I visit Ottawa!

Zak's cantine was a different restaurant from Zak's dinner now it's an overflow space and it looks and feels like it. Table with their chairs on them,extra condiment containers at the front. They used to have a more Mexican style menu it's gone. The waitress did say that it's a different menu before we were seated. But it's the same as Zak's we didn't expect that.
Food was really good, nice place but the reason for posting my review is the service. Staff was amazing, Kara our waitress was funny, nice and the best!

First and foremost the young man working the door was awesome, waitress was great as well, drinks and poutine was amazing my burger was meh but there are a ton of selections maybe I just didn’t order the best.Dined in a renovated bus, super cool.
