It's a beautiful course, tricky and narrow. Very well maintained. If you're in the area it's worth playing. However, it's a long course to play, 4.5hrs as it's a few minutes drive between each hole. I wish the bar was open before 9am as you can't get anything until the 9th hole and there is no cart girl.
Nice course. Terrible ownership. That's the review in six words, but here's the context.
I played Seguin Valley often in the past and had good experiences, so when I read reviews criticizing how they do business, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I shouldn't have.
Two groups of us — 8 golfers — we just played 18 holes and the girl in the clubhouse said there was room for some extras, we'd be lucky to get 9 holes in! The course was wide open with nobody left on it as it was late in the day. We planned to eat at the clubhouse after. That's $1,500+ walking through the door. When it came time for the extra holes, we went in to pay and expected to at most get in 9 holes if we were lucky so we went to pay for 9. The owner flatly refused: pay for 18 or don't play. There was hardly a chance to get all extra 9 in let alone 18!!! No flexibility, no courtesy, just rude. A manager was equally dismissive. So all 8 of us walked, and we won't be back.
Turning away paying customers over something this simple tells you everything about how this place is run. The course deserves better management, and golfers deserve better treatment.
I'm a member at a private club here, and the local golf community talks. This review is the polite version of what I'll be telling people.
Terrible experience, customer service is non-existent. Forced full payment for a ride along that was not golfing and then proceeded to charge the card on file for additional non existent golfers. They'll also search your belongings without permission followed by a condescending scolding before you even start the round.
Just go play elsewhere!
Don’t waste your time going to this place. We booked a golf trip for 10 guys . One guy didn’t want to play just wanted to come on the course As a rider just to hang out with the boys , the staff Proceeded to make a scene and give us a very hard time made the rider pay $150 to play And he didn’t even have clubs . The hospitality is absolutely horrendous.. They checked every single one of our bags. This is a place I would never come back to, but the course is beautiful. It’s unfortunate.. called to change the amount of golfers 2x but clearly your pro shop didn’t make the change, just lost 10 golfers that will never come back and never recommend. The scene that the staff created was laughable and ruined the experience for us. I don’t ever leave reviews but this was something that people need to know about
Great course, in really amazing shape
Cabin are well maintained
Overall a great experience and a real hidden gem. Would recommend to all for a stay and play
We played Seguin Valley for the first time this week. What a truly spectacular, challenging and enjoyable course to play. A championship course in every way. I highly recommend it!
Amazing golf course, very challenging. Food was really good and huge choices of drinks.
This golf course is an experience for sure Its like some flew with a helicopter and went a hole will work there and there and there. The scenery is unmatched. The hospitality is second to none. JUST BRILLIANT!
The golf course is very good, but besides the starter, the service is atrocious. The only place I have had my bag patted down and had to order my meals 24 hours ahead. Do not book the Stay 'N Plays. It was 8 months ago, and I'm still shaking my head at the bad management.
Simple Great golf and hospitality

Great food…was not a fan of having my tea served in a paper cup.
What a perfect golf weekend! Dawn helped us organize our annual golf tournament and set up a wonderful stay-and-play for 12 of us. The accommodations were perfect, food was great, and the golf course was spectacular in every way. Highly recommend and we'll be back for future events. Thank you to Dawn, Jake, and all the staff and see you next year!
We have a group of 8 that visit Seguin Valley each year. This year one couple had a very serious incident which caused them to not be able to make it. I called the day before to let the course know and I was charged $90/person cancellation fee. The person I spoke to had no interest in even hearing the reason. I couldn’t believe the attitude but just said ok charge my card. When the 6 of us arrived the next day to golf the fellow that met us had an instant negative attitude, never seen this before at a golf course, usually folks are so friendly and welcoming at any course I have been to. He told us we could have only 3 golf carts but when I explained that the 3 women wanted to play together and the 3 men wanted to play together and I had actually paid for 8 green fees he said to me “ are you giving me attitude?” Then when I was talking to my friends he walked over and said “ are you talking about me?” His demeanor was rude and confrontational. The course was not in great shape, greens were excellent but cart paths, fairways etc were not. We had some food after golf and it was mediocre as was the service. None of my friends want to go back and we will visit one of the other courses in the area next time.
Terrible service from everyone involved except for the bar. Gale at the front desk is incredibly rude and unprofessional. Their starters smoke in your face and look homeless. They shove people in your carts when you pay for them and there are plenty available. Gale made rude comments to my friend that had to miss a tee time for being sick and then grabbed my hand aggressively when I asked for a price breakdown on my receipt. The biggest shame is that the course is really beautiful, and is ruined by terrible staff. Won't come back. Especially because every tee box is littered with sand which makes teeing off a nightmare.
Not accommodating at all. Had a group of us playing 2 rounds and they were very strict with their rules. Not allowing any flexibility
Nice greens, all tee boxes were just sand.
