“This was our last stop during our self guided wine tour. We live in Kingston so the location was perfect to cover half the distance of our drive home. It was also a great place to have some wood-fired pizzas to finish the day. The smoke of the fire was the first thing I noticed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We also discovered their delicious Sangria Spritz, a fruity mix that is really nice to drink with ice.”

“We were a party of 6 last night and had a fantastic experience. The food was phenomenal but the service was top-notch! All three staff we interacted with were charismatic and personable. The hostess learned my mother was here from Newfoundland and told us all about the trip her friends just planned for the Rock, showing us the map on her tablet. Our server “Prince Charming” was so engaged with my step-son who is on the spectrum and can be very shy. It made my son’s whole night having a conversation with him about the Shrek movies and Puss in Boots! I could not say enough about what a wonderful experience we had at Hartley’s.”

“This is such an amazing gem of a bar! Cosy and warm atmosphere. The service is friendly and very knowledgeable. Once our drinks arrived, our server asked us how our first sips were. 😁 Love it. One guest ordered a red wine spritzer but they tinkered with it to elevate a simple drink. Mixologist came over to explain the drink and ask how it was. We will be back! Check out Russ and Co. in Picton or sister Bar Duchess in Wellington on your next visit to the County. 🙌”

We also had the opportunity to sample some of the beers on offer, and we were pleased with the quality and variety. The beers complemented our meal perfectly, adding to the overall dining experience. “Jordan was able to fix my wife’s bike after her ride where the brakes seized up and a tire blew. He repaired it on time and did only what needed to be done. We recommend him and will return for bike maintenance in the future and soon for the coffee/desserts!😎👍”

The wines are really good but the vinegars are over the top. Marty and I bought wine and vinegar. Then we had a wonderful fire wood meat lovers pizza. Absolutely delicious. A must place to visit.”

“They're my FAVOURITE pizza! Anywhere! Their sauce is the best, and it's a big heavy pizza, not skimpy cheese like the chain pizza places. They also have delicious Poutine, sweet potato Fries and battered mushrooms!”

“Popped by Onesta tonight to celebrate with a friend. Cozy atmosphere with delicious food. (Bonus points: it’s close to the Mary street parking lot because sometimes parking in Picton is tricky)

“There are a lot of Subway locations but the crew here is always fast and accurate. The food always tastes great and fresh. Last but not least, they have a great interior with lots of space to walk around or sit down and eat.”

“We had 3 couples celebrating our anniversaries in The County and decided on the Barley Room for super. My wife had stopped in around noon asking if they could set aside a table for 6, knowing they didn't take reservations. The woman she spoke to said shouldn't be a problem if you come before 5:00. We came before 5:00 and sadly, nothing was set aside. The woman my wife spoke to was their and pretended she knew nothing. and that's when ADAM came to the rescue. Adam asked if we were okay in the dining room and took us to a table for 6 - nice bright area over looking the garden. Adam chatted with us, heard our story, took our drink orders and looked after us. Took our picture as well. Food orders came next and service was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meal with Irish Shepard's pie leading the compliments. Adam came back with the dessert menus and patiently waited as we tried to make up our minds. Adam saved the day for us. His attention, his communication with us as well as knowing when to leave us alone is to be commended. If you are here and Adam is working, ask to be in his section. 5 Star Service.”

“We popped in for a quick dinner and were so pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. Fresh rotisserie chicken, hot french fries that are house made and tangy coleslaw. For the price it felt like good value. This is what Swiss Chalet used to taste like in the 90's. If you can visit this local charming spot please do!”
