We were there yesterday, August 31st and the food and service was great. A little problem with wasps on the outside patio but the view is great and extremely friendly service.

During the final weeks of our summer vacation, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at Izzy's Schooner, a charming local restaurant tucked away in the heart of Port Burwell, Ontario. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.

From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality made us feel right at home. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that made the dining experience even more enjoyable.

We decided to try the fish and chips, and I can honestly say—it was some of the best I've ever had. The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. Paired with golden fries and a classic tartar sauce, it was a true comfort meal done right.

The rest of the menu looked just as tempting, and you can tell the kitchen takes pride in using fresh, quality ingredients. Whether you're in for a full meal or just looking to enjoy a drink and some local flavour, Izzy's Schooner delivers both quality and charm.

We met the new owner today.. we have gone here for years for the girls that have been here since we started coming here. One of the girls in the kitchen is gone and the rest I feel bad for. The young girl in the kitchen left the kitchen crying today, and looked so stressed. she also seemed to be the only one in the kitchen. My server who I’ve known for 5 years kept getting interrupted and we got rushed multiple times by the new owner. I will definitely not be back. But if my waitress went someone else I will be there.

So let's start off by just saying avoid this place at all costs, we waited for an hour and a half for the worst food I've ever had, the perch was soft and wet, and the burger was complete garbage, other tables who had been seated around the same time we're also visibly upset with the poor service and lack of accountability from management and staff. They gave one of the members of my party half of a coffee and then told us that they took the coffee off the bill because we had to wait an hour and a half for our food, One of my party was also stung by a wasp, Which there was hundreds of them on the patio. It's a shame cause it's a nice spot with a view of the sub. They also didn't refill our water or drinks once during the whole 2 hours we had been sitting there, there was only 5 tables sitting, i can't believe i paid for this after leaving i was angry, I should have just left and not paid the bill because the whole thing was abit Ridiculous! So honestly stay clear

My wife and I ordered the toasted western sandwich with fries. Fries were not fresh and freezing cold. Western sandwiches were not toasted - soggy greasy bread and eggs were not cooked properly.. we had the waitress take the plate back and take it off the bill. Manager suddenly was unavailable and no apology was given. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Paid $30 for one meal with 2 drinks and a gravy - it was total crap!!!

My buddy and I got to the restaurant just a bit later than expected and we were greeted wonderfully and promptly served water with the menus, our Burgers rocked, and we had a great talk with the new owner. He has some great experiences in the service and food industry. Could not have been happier with our Beach day visit. Cheers and all the best.

Stopped in here for dinner while we were camping in Port Burwell. Kitchen makes a great fish and chips dinner.

I got the 5 piece Perch dinner my lady got the 2 piece Pickerel dinner.

Highly recommend this place and I'll be back when I'm through the area again!

We had a nice lunch on the patio. The perch was great.

Terrible service, took 15 minutes to even get acknowledged that you were there and another hour to wait for food. Fries were cold and undercook and barely any fish. Bill was way too high for lunch. NOT going back EVER!

The food was far from satisfactory. Although our server was friendly she was slow. We sat on the patio and waited 10 min to just place a drink order.

Really good calm and cozy patio. Food was delicious! Just what we needed after a day at the beach!

Had lunch at this restaurant for the first time. Great experience! Sat on their lovely patio that has a view of the Submarine in Port Burwell. Tried their seasonal deep fried asparagus which was amazing! Also had a ceaser salad, fish and chips special and the ultimate burger with pulled pork. All was delicious! Our server Tara was very friendly and efficient! Will definitely be back!
