Visiting local friends, we took a short jaunt to Port Colborne to visit Minor Fisheries. Not only can you purchase the freshest fish to take home, but their fish platters are some of the best I've eaten. What I especially like about our meal? The perch and pickerel coating is so light and crisp...just enough to enhance the fish with a good crunch. It was a bit chilly so the doors were down on the enclosed eating area, but we could see through to the Welland Canal and watch...
This is a one of a kind fish and chips place. They use fresh fish and they are not soaked in oil. The food was tasty but, a bit pricy. The customer service was good and I would definitely recommend this place for visitors.
Parking: For now, it's only take out option is available. They are renovating a sitting area and it's under construction.

I go to Minor Fisheries from Niagara Falls at least twice a month for the perch. It is the best. Superior to Port Dover. There is always a line up but the food and service are worth it.
