I wish I would give 0 star but there has no option. Given money to this place please don’t expect you could get any service, they told you to wait and rushing you to leave when you just finished your meal!!!

The service is bad, the server does not speak English well, hard to understand our request. Food is not impressed at all, Scarborough location is better

Worst ever! Bad service with not fresh food in the Japanese restaurant. I’d rather to get food from supermarket than this place. The restaurant need to be closed and government need to check. I raise the concerns for all customers

“I had a really disappointing experience at Aka on jun 07 at 12pm . It’s a Japanese restaurant, but not child-friendly at all. My daughter is just 2 years old, and when we tried to get a booster seat for satety purpose which is always the most important to our canada. Server brought us in and we sit and wait for booster. A few mins passed, server said they couldn’t give it to us. It wasn’t even that they were busy; they just had another reservation coming at 1 p.m. We were there at noon, and still, they refused. They said kids can just sit there with parents. So many kids are doing that. If u don’t want, we should leave. My wife was furious, and frankly, so was I. They had a booster seat, but no safety measures for a small child. I really don’t recommend this place if you have little ones—they don’t care about safety at all. I hope all Canadians know this restaurant’s treatment for kids. Their business is good, but they don’t care.

Had a fantastic experience at AKA-ONI Izakaya. The food was absolutely amazing, with every dish being fresh, flavourful, and beautifully prepared. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the ingredients and presentation.
What really stood out was the service. The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and always made sure everything was perfect without being intrusive. Their recommendations were excellent, and they helped make the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.
Highly recommend AKA-ONI Izakaya to anyone looking for great Japanese food and outstanding hospitality. I'll definitely be back!
I don't think the serve attitude is good

I love the decor, it brings me back to Japan. Watching Sumo and eating my lunch...perfect! The pork was tender and flavorful. The sashimi was fresh. Free scoop of ice cream for dessert.

Mediocre so-called Japanese food prepared by people that have likely never set foot in Japan for extraordinary prices that defy logic.

many people have shared with me that they had the same experience at this place. Eat at your own risk. 这家吃了包窜的 已经有好几个人和我说过了 想体验肠胃炎和加拿大超绝效率急诊的话可以来试试
We went to this place twice. The first time we ordered sashimi, and my boyfriend got stomach flu (it took about two months to recover btw and now he feels like he has a weak stomach, which he didn’t have before), but I was fine cuz I didn't eat much. The second time went with a friend, also ordered sashimi, and my friend also got diarrhea afterwards. I felt uncomfortable in my stomach for a few days too. Note I generally have a strong stomach.
This place isn’t cheap, and while other food items were okay, I really have doubts about the sashimi. Or maybe it was something else, idek. Each time I go, it’s around $100 per person, and at this price, I expect something much better. At least it shouldn't make you sick -.-
We never had these issues when we used to go to the Scarborough location. Don't think I will ever return to this location lol. Plus it always has long waits so I prefer the sushi place next door (which I highly recommend, very nice price and food). In fact the only reason I came here the second time was because the other store was closed.

First time come here to celebrate Mother's day. The staff was friendly and explained the menu to us, the decor was unique and the lobster sashimi, salmon and sushi all were very fresh, other foods like udon & beef were very delicious.

I dropped in on this place after a long day of meetings. Had some drinks, and had chawan mushi and a hamachi kama. Emma was awesome helping me though their menu looking for something small.
