“Great spot, not the owners fault but super annoying regulars at the bar... Very loud wouldn't stop talking about sports and American politics... not everybody is interested in bloody last night's game... Or your horribly ill informed opinion regarding politics... the open hatred of Americans was most unwelcome... Not sure this realized he was sat next to an actual American... might want to think about that before broadcasting your thoughts about Kamala/Trump etc... Really good way to get a punch in the face actually lol... Back home there would be a 🔫 involved if someone was mouthing off like that.“

“Wow! This place is such a great neighbourhood spot, I can see why there are so many glowing reviews. It does get busy, so get there earlier. There are some parking spots available if you're lucky.
Tip: I overheard someone get their chips well done. If only I had known...
The chowder is nice and creamy. The fish is crispy and light and they clearly use fresh oil because it tastes fresh and doesn't have much of an oily/greasy aftertaste. The cod cheeks are delectable. The coleslaw is a bit of the lighter end, but maybe I'm too used to the goopy soupy mess that is KFC's. Caesar salad is also a bit light.
And you cannot leave without trying the key lime pie! Another table egged me on to get it and I am forever grateful. The key lime pie is such a good, deep blend of the tartness, sour, and a bit of sweet. The crumble is also great. It's the perfect complement for fish and chips.
The service is phenomenal. They're so great and I could see the owner walking around chatting with some of the regulars.
I will definitely be coming back, especially to try that apple crisp.“

“Wear MAGA hat and a conservative T-shirt. Watch the staff go berserk. Hilarious. Diversity of everything except opinions 😅“

“Not only the best place to eat in the neighbourhood; one of the best in all of Toronto. Always imaginative additions to the menu. Great service.“

“Great place to visit and watch a match. Highly recommended the authentic roast beef dinner on the weekend. The beef was just melt in your mouth goodness. The Yorkshire pudding was also on point! Washed down with a good English pint!“

“Great place! Nate, the bartender, is efficient and friendly....and makes the best expresso martinis and caesars! Had natchos, baked pitato skins and mushroom ravioli....all were excellent...however, the ravioli pirtion was rather small. All in all I highly recommend The Churchmouse and the Firkin. Sit at the bar and meet Nate@“
