Very unique and delicious Mexican food. The chicken tinga chimichanga was absolutely delicious! Definitely going back again! Thanks to Dakota for fantastic service also!
Had a craving for Mexican. Decided to try this newer restaurant in Southampton, The Smoky Cactus. Nice decor in the bar area. Waitress was friendly. I ordered the elote starter, seasoned corn on the cob with crema and cilantro ($8) - excellent!!! Definitely a must have! Ron had the charred sprouts, fried brussel sprouts with sauce and crema ($13) - also very good. His main was the chimichanga, pulled pork ($18) and mine was the tacodilla, smoked beet ($14). Both tasty dishes, loved the beets, the crema and the house made tortilla chips were crisp. Churros for dessert, of course ($6), the traditional - very nice flavour, good size. Overall a really nice meal and place to eat.

We are visitors to the area and read a lot of reviews / had a few meals out. We decided to try the Smokey Cactus and had a delicious reasonably priced meal. We shared the nachos and salsa, 3 different tacos (all very flavourful) and some hot, tasty chocolate churros.We were in a small room with several tables and I was a bit unsure at first, but it was fine. Service was pleasant. We were happy with our choice. It’s not fine dining, but tasty and well priced. We would return.

Our experience was very good from the pleasant, attentive wait staff to the tasty food. The tacos were simple, but good as we tried the pulled pork and chicken tinga options. The kids had a more plain version which was good for their tastes. The chips and churros were also very good.

We were visiting Tobermory for the weekend and was staying at Southampton. We were looking up places to eat and stumbled across Smoky Cactus and was intrigued after seeing such high reviews. Service was extremely slow. Took over 40 minutes to get our food. The pulled pork tacos were extremely dry with barely any sauce. Overall, the food was very mediocre for such a high price point.
Nachos so good I wanted to meet the cook who made them and bow down.The amount of time they must have taken to delicately lay out nacho after nacho then cover them in Tex mex cheese. Calculating the perfect ratio for optimal melt to crunch factor.The full flavour of the pulled pork added a delightfully tangy and sweetness to the plate complimented by the jalapeño.WELL DONE amigos!!!100% recommend. Top 3 nachos of my life, maybe fighting for gold.Cheers to beers as they were cold too!Well done to the cook and staff for a great patio lunch!

Great, inexpensive and interesting Mexican food. Fast service. Friendly, helpful staff. In- house smoked beets or smoked sweet potato are two taco filling choices. Really tasty. Others are brisket, pulled pork, and chicken tinga. House made guacamole and chips were really good. Recommend!Vegetarian options: Smoked beet and smoked sweet potato tacos were excellent! Guacamole and chips were awesome!
