Had a craving for Mexican. Decided to try this newer restaurant in Southampton, The Smoky Cactus. Nice decor in the bar area. Waitress was friendly. I ordered the elote starter, seasoned corn on the cob with crema and cilantro ($8) - excellent!!! Definitely a must have! Ron had the charred sprouts, fried brussel sprouts with sauce and crema ($13) - also very good. His main was the chimichanga, pulled pork ($18) and mine was the tacodilla, smoked beet ($14). We are visitors to the area and read a lot of reviews / had a few meals out. We decided to try the Smokey Cactus and had a delicious reasonably priced meal. We shared the nachos and salsa, 3 different tacos (all very flavourful) and some hot, tasty chocolate churros.We were in a small room with several tables and I was a bit unsure at first, but it was fine. Service was pleasant. We were happy with our choice. It’s not fine dining, but tasty and well priced. We would return.
Our experience was very good from the pleasant, attentive wait staff to the tasty food. The tacos were simple, but good as we tried the pulled pork and chicken tinga options. The kids had a more plain version which was good for their tastes. The chips and churros were also very good.
