It's a good fish & chips spot but half the time I go they are closed

I had the misfortune to get 2 x 1 piece fish and chips from this place. I can say without any shred of a doubt that this was the worst fish and chips i have had in my entire life , by a considerable margin. The fish was dry and very overcooked at the edges. It had the delicate texture of cardboard. The chips were also overcooked and dark brown. The entire thing was basically inedible. I hate leaving bad reviews, but unless this place shapes up their ideas they wont be in business for much longer.

Once again ordered my usual (2) x Haddock and fries order, though with a substitution of sweet potato fries instead of regular fries. Should have been a difference of $3.99 (regular fries) or $4.99 (sweet potato) or $1 difference. Well my $21.99 dinner turned into a $27+ dinner...even after I asked to deduct the regular fries + add sweet potato fries instead. I can understand you don't wish to give the $1 difference your ADVERTISE on your website, but should be no more than $2!!. Why are you ripping off your customers?

Also note, your website states I can get my haddock hand breaded and/or pan fried in Avocado oil...as I had wished this time.

However, was told today during placing my order (Sept 28th,25) that we haven't had Avocado oil for 'a while' due to customer allergy concerns? Why do you still list that option then on your website after more than a year?

Please don't get me wrong everyone including the owner, the fish has always been excellent, no matter type I've ordered.
Main concerns after today, is no discount for NO regular fries and add sweet potato fries instead...just add to the total regular bill....really??

On top of that, the sweet potato fries where WAY overcooked and a tasteless,dried out pieces of cardboard....not impressed, hit the garbage can....all of it.

Disgusting. Ordered halibut with a salad. Got charged for a full halibut meal with fries. The halibut crust tasted like cardboard and the fish was disgustingly hard to pull apart. 1 piece halibut with a salad for $23. Wouldn't recommend anyone to ever go here. There are much better alternative options.

We had the 2 pc halibut and chips! Amazing fish and the chips were seasoned perfectly....so yummy! Definitely will be back!

Tried this place on a whim, hands down the best fish and chips around. Got the 2 piece Haddock, fish was great, cooked perfectly , lots of chips and prices are reasonable.

While the fish and chips platters are great, I was stunned when I went to order the regular mozzarella sticks appetizer and was met with one giant stick with a block of cheese inside. Unsure who would ever crave a thick block of cheese deep fried in little breading.

We got the seafood platters, everything was delicious with good portions and a fair pricing.
I don't eat fish and chips alot, but I'll definitely be back here soon.
