The best dining experience I've had in years. Of course, you come with the expectation that the food would be good, but this food is outstanding. It really gives you a taste of what Southern African cuisine is like and the head chef is so passionate about sharing the tastes of home with the guests; We could taste it in the food, and see it through his personality. Our server Luke, deserves the utmost praise for his professionalism, yet let his personality show in the best way. He treated us like we were the only table he was serving on. Between Luke and the head chef, they took this dining experience from 5 star, to one we won't forget. Now the food, again, was outstanding. I'd highly recommend the Braai bowl as the flavour combination is unmatched. Every bite was different, and better than the last. The Biltong Board is a must with delicious biltong, artisinal cheese, and to die for warm olives. Sitting at the kitchen counter is the way to go for the most immersive experience. We will be back sooner rather than later, and can't wait! Bravo

One of the best meals I’ve ever had! We couldn’t get a reservation, so we sat by the bar, and it still turned out to be such a great vibe. I ordered the Braai Bowl and shared the cauliflower appetizer and loaded fries — everything was packed with flavor.

As a vegetarian, I really appreciated how many options they offered it’s rare to find that level of variety and quality. I normally don’t even like beets, but the roasted veggies in the Braai Bowl were pure heaven. The drinks were fantastic too. If I lived closer, I’d be here every weekend. Highly recommend!

We visited Braai House before our show at the Stratford Festival. We made a reservation so thankfully there was no wait to be seated.

We ordered the Bobotie Spring Rolls, Wood Fired Scallop, Boerewors Sausage, Biltong Board and Molton Lava Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream. The scallops and the spring rolls were standouts.

As the dinner went on the restaurant became quite noisy, so this is probably not the best option for a quiet conversational romantic date!

Nice place but service was terribly slow. 45 minutes before our drinks arrived. And it was not busy. We had reservations for 5:30 and were ready to order pretty quick, but no one came by to take the order. We had 2 hours before we needed to leave for a show and by the time we got our meal we had to rush. Very nice decor but I don't recommend this place. Sorry but really it takes alot for me to leave such a poor review.

The Braai House is in a convenient location, right behind the Avon Theatre where we saw a play. The play ended at 4:45 and the restaurant opened at 5 so we didn’t have to wait long. The waiter was excellent and very attentive. My friend ordered the steak and said it was really good. Three of us ordered the monk fish and we all thought it was ok but we would not order it again. After dinner we ordered cappuccino. It was very watery, had no foam and tasted like it didn’t have much espresso in it. I mentioned this to the waiter and he took it off our bill which we appreciated.

Wonderful atmosphere, the food is tasty and the staff were delightful. If you need to impress someone or wanting to take client out for a night out, this place is for you. Additionally, you can have a taste of Africa here. The desert Menu is not to be missed.

First time trying this restaurant and it was great! My boyfriend and I sat at the chef's counter and we had a fun time watching the cooks do their work. Our server Joel was super friendly and a great guy! He was very attentive and kept checking in on us to make sure we were doing okay and he made our entire experience very comfortable. The food was really tasty, we got the spring rolls, braai burger and the hermanus sting pizza. We also got the chocolate pudding for dessert and that was a great way to end the night. Next time we visit Stratford we will definitely come again!

My wife and I had a truly memorable dinner at Braai House after taking in a show at the Stratford Festival. We were completely blown away by the experience. The restaurant is beautiful, the service impeccable and the food simply blew us away. Definitely one of the best meals of the year and we look forward to going back next year.

Overall experience was excellent! Fast, accurate service, even during the packed theater time. Highly recommend the biltong board, Braai burger and Elgin pizza! If possible, go after 7 once the crowd starts to leave

We had a great evening at Braai House! This was our first visit here. We sat at the chef’s counter, which we always try to do when it’s available, and it really made the night. We loved watching the kitchen at work, and Chef Matthew checked in often and chatted with us throughout the evening.

We started with the squid, and the Chef brought out a selection of house-made hot sauces just for us. This is exactly why we love sitting kitchen-side; those little touches and personalized upgrades make it special. For mains, I had the lamb and my husband had the Braai bowl. Both were full of flavor and cooked beautifully. It will be hard not to order the lamb again next time, it was easily 11/10.

For dessert, we were convinced to try the South African milk tart, and it was to die for. We also went with the chocolate malva cake, which did not disappoint. Halfway through, Chef even brought me an extra scoop of ice cream so I could finish it properly. Definitely save room for dessert!

The only part that fell short was the traditional service. Our cocktails arrived after the appetizer, a second round was delayed, and we had to follow up on a few basic things with our server. By the end of the night, it was the chef’s attention and hospitality that truly warranted the generous tip we left, not the bar or table service.

We’ll definitely be back, book the counter again, and can’t wait to explore more of the menu!
