Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast outside on the patio. Lovely spot!
Came up for a golf weekend and this was the course we were waiting for! First off, the good: Staff are very friendly and accommodating and overall pleasant. All the greens were amazing, almost perfect rolls every time, and finally the glimpses of Georgian Bay were breathtaking. Now the things that keep me from giving it a perfect 5 star: First, the course is being redone, as in bunkers are being moved, removed, and built. There are holes where whole bunkers on the golf cart map and my Garmin that don't exist anymore, or the opposite are not shown, so distance control is out the window. On some other holes the old bunkers being removed are just pits, all the sand gone, but the bunker is still there so it's pretty unpleasant. For some reason the course has decided to reverse their start from hole 1 to hole 9, not that big of a deal except each hole has a massive rock that says the wrong hole, and then a 4x4 post with the correct hole number, not a deal breaker, but also this is a nicer course. Finally, they will not take cash, I understand there are potential risks with taking cash, but in my personal opinion cash is legal tender and a business should take it. Hopefully they reverse that choice. Overall good, will come back in a few years once the course has been completed with its renovation.

I actually like the layout of the course and have played it 4-5 times, but this last time we were met by the most unbelievably rude welcome I've ever experienced at a golf course. We arrived a little early (90 mins ) to have breakfast on the patio before our round and were told we were way too early and shouldn't be there yet, that there were members on the course (it's not Agusta National...) and we weren't allowed to be there until 30 mins before our tee time. We tried to say we were just having breakfast but he mumbled some more rude nonsense about not putting our clubs on a cart so we just walked away. On the flip side the girls inside were lovely and the breakfast was great. 20 min before our time this same guy stops us on the way to the range and demands our tee time, we tell him and he doesn't say a word and drives away... It was unreal and so strange. Nobody in our group will ever return. I spent last weekend at Muskoka Bay for example and it was a million times better, much more "exclusive" but FAR more inviting atmosphere. If you are in Collingwood I'd suggest Monterra or driving up to Cobble Beach for a better experience.

Nice track with a number of spectacular holes
Negatives :
Many of the bunkers were not maintained, no ‘GUR’ sign despite being harder than concrete
The ‘no cancellation’ policy is silly

We will return, and try their menu again, we must say that our waitress, Caleb, was really nice, and polite, we couldn’t give 5 stars because I feel very disappointed with the rest of the staff. The ladies that work at the bar were extremely loud, laughing extremely loud, complaining about customers orders, and even making fun of one of the guest’s name, saying their name sound as a joke. (Especially guest book for 7 pm on Sunday September 3, 2023)We were the only table inside the restaurant, and they made us feel very uncomfortable. We didn’t stay not even 1 hour.We hope this change in the future.

Went for dinner and we all really enjoyed our food. The salmon with crispy potatoes was one of the best restaurant meals I’ve had in awhile. Fish and chips were great, though both who had it said the coleslaw could be improved. Fettuccine with shrimp was delicious but could have been a larger portion. Impeccable service from the friendly and welcoming staff. Also great views of the water from our table. Will definitely eat here again. Note that it is new management and staff this season.

There was a Batchelor Party with 12 guys who brought their own radio and played their music very load. They also were very load with vulgar language. At no time did any staff try to stop them considering the rest of the Patrons. I live in that community and I am not sure I would return.
Wonderful experience! We came here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and was greeted by very friendly staff and complimentary champagne. The service was excellent and the food was amazing!! The view from the patio overseeing the lake and watching the sunset was exquisite. I'd definitely come back here

Excellent place to eat with good food, although the menu has changed in the past few months. Missed the wraps! Make sure you take a credit card as no cash is accepted at Lora Bay
The food was very good albeit on the pricey side. This is the third time I have had lunch there and they still don't have any sparkling water aside from soda. Surely it is not a big deal to bring in Montclair or Perrier or something equivalent. Soda just doesn't cut it! For the money, I also do not expect to get ketchup, vinegar etc. in plastic pouches. A few more vegetarian/vegan options would also be a good idea.
