I was just driving behind a La Briut van on Centre Street. Absolutely, the worst, distracted driver I have ever seen. Didn’t think it could get worse until he took his garbage and threw it out the window on to the road.

Had an awesome time dining in this restaurant. The lamb ribs stew was delicious. We keep coming back time and again. The food is great and waiters are professional and courteous. Much recommended. Probably one of the best kosher restaurants in Toronto area.

Dietary restrictions: Low carb. Kosher.

Firstly, lets talk about welcoming your clients.....None. Service is abysmal due to lack of wait staff. The owner, does literally nothing to help his staff that are running around trying to please customers. Hopefully you won’t order on a week they change their menu. Menu changes weekly. I am one that orders the same thing weekly when I like a dish I order in a restaurant. Three times I ordered the same thing and only once I received what I asked for. The second time no salad nor vegetable, and the 3rd time no salad, no vegetable, and no small appetizers with bread as a starter as I had gotten the first time; just chicken, rice and an overflow of purple onions (which I like, but please only onions as a vegetable?!). This at a cost with tax and tip $54.00 Bill with tax and tip was the same as when they served small appetizers, salad and vegetables. I could go on with 2 more real disappointments that were totally unacceptable. This was on Tuesday of last week; September 10/24 (one with meat that had gone bad on a charcuterie board and it was replaced with 4 approximately 3 inch kabobs. The bill was the same as if the original 5 large pieces of meat were on it. As well do NOT order a Shabbos meal without checking the contents. We were not given what was quoted on the menu. The owner has “no good will” towards customers. When I spoke to him several times he answered “Try us next time and we’ll make sure to check that you get what you ordered”. As for the meat that had gone bad, the owner refused to reenter the restaurant until he finished smoking his cigarette outdoors, and when he came back in and I told him the meat was rancid, he shocked my husband and I by saying "ok I'll let the waitress take care of it". Really?! That's it!!! Sorry I had to post negatively but truthfully, this is not at all an exaggeration. I will never go back here (after patiently giving the restaurant 6 tries) and suggest you try other kosher establishments. Your bill for the fiasco we went through on September 10 won't come to 118.00 for 2 including tax and tip at other good restaurants. I give this restaurant less than a year before they close up shop. We have plenty of good kosher restaurants in Toronto. Go there.

We ordered the Ultimate Meat Platter from La Briut to take with us on our recent family vacation. The portions were plentiful and the food was delicious….The pulled beef was so tender and also not too spicy that even our 1-year-old granddaughter devoured it. Looking forward to ordering platters from them again soon!

Went for an anniversary and was thoroughly underwhelmed. Overpriced for the food and experience.
It's tough to know from reading anything about this place that it's now a meat restaurant. The food is average.
No greeter, some random person was hanging out by the entrance and spoke with us, "Oh, I don't work here." The undersized wait staff shouldn't also need to function as host. It's not busy; the place was nearly empty and had zero atmosphere. You could tell from the setup that the place is a converted former dive bar, dark, unwelcoming, and uncomfortable.
I want to support our local kosher restaurants, but it's tough when they're like this.

We dine in this restaurant at least once or twice a month and every time we go there we come out very pleased with the service, the atmosphere is always very welcoming and the food is delicious! They have some special dishes like their Kabab and the fish with the yummy red sause we like so much and the price is very reasonable as well. we will continue dining in this restarant for sure and really recommend it to anyone who loves home made food, just go there try it and you won't regret it!!!

Vegetarian options: They have very tasty Caesar sald and mediterianian salad and other good ones on their menue.

Kid-friendliness: They have younge families going there because it's located next to some daycares and in a family oriented enviroment area.

Food is truly disgusting.. service - wow... we were served with glasses that had lipstick on it - twice! I should have taken a better pic of the second pair of glasses. But there was a pink lipstick. Attitude from the server was a special bonus... Hummus and schnitzel were simply awful. No sauce came with it. Eventually, old ketchup appeared on the table and... wait for it - it was expired.... even 1 star is generous, run from this place!

La Briut: A Disappointing ExperienceMy recent visit to La Briut left much to be desired. From the moment I stepped inside, it was evident that customer service was not a priority. No warm welcome, no acknowledgment—just an indifferent atmosphere. I had to inquire whether they were open for business, as the ongoing renovations seemed to take precedence over potential diners. Now, let’s delve into the culinary aspect. The schnitzel, while passable, lacked any flair. But here’s the kicker: it arrived without any condiments or margarine (a kosher alternative to butter). In a kosher establishment, attention to detail matters, and this oversight was disappointing. The main course, a dish named schnitzel and rice, was a letdown. Not a single salad accompanied it, and the absence of bread—a staple in most restaurants—was glaring. The plate looked dull, tasted bland, and worst of all, lacked any vegetables. A meal devoid of greens is a missed opportunity for flavor and nutrition. In summary, La Briut failed to impress. From the lackluster food to the unwelcoming ambiance, it barely deserves a single star. If you’re seeking a memorable dining experience, look elsewhere. ?La Briut: A Pricey DisappointmentMy experience at La Briut took an unfortunate turn when I discovered the hefty price tag attached to my lackluster meal. For a meal that left me unimpressed, the $33 price seemed exorbitant. To recap: the schnitzel lacked pizzazz, the absence of condiments or margarine was perplexing, and the overall presentation fell flat. And now, knowing that I paid a premium for this subpar experience, my disappointment has only grown. In summary, La Briut managed to combine mediocrity with a hefty bill—a combination no diner should encounter. Save your hard-earned dollars and explore other dining options. ?
