My boyfriend and I always choose The Octagon for our birthday and anniversary celebrations, and it never disappoints. We have been regulars for every celebration or just a special night out, for the past ten years.
From their table-side Caesar Salad (the best we've ever tasted) to steaks prepared exactly to your request, to the wait staff's friendly manner, I love everything about this Jewel of Thornhill. I cannot recommend it strongly enough!

A wonderful and elevated dining experience, I have nothing but good things to say about the Octagon. The service is impeccable, the staff were warm, attentive and doted on our every need. The food is impeccable. The shrimp from the shrimp cocktail are the largest I’ve ever seen. The tableside Caesar is not to be missed. The bacon-wrapped scallops are perfection. The tableside Chateaubriand is very special. Overall, the Octagon is exceptional and I highly recommend.

September 23, 2024 was the last day I worked as a busboy in this restaurant. Very clean restaurant and all the employees were good people. The owner of the restaurant did not give me the last tip from my job 100 dollars and said he would call me back for work. He never called me. And we all know that in restaurants we work for the tip. On Mother's Day in 2024 they called me 2 hours early for work, he never paid me. I see you answered all the reviews. You didn't answer me. Maybe the 100 dollars are worth more to you. You may not have enough money to put gas in your Porsche. Thank you for your answer. I expect you to give me my 100 dollars that you owe me since 9-23-2023.

We decided to treat ourselves to a special anniversary dinner at Octago, and it never disappoints. This place is upscale to a ‘T’, with a team of servers moving in perfect choreography from the complimentary bread and pickle tray all the way to dessert and coffee. It’s dinner and a show, and we’re happy to pay for both.
This time, we indulged in the Chateaubriand for two, and they graciously accommodated our preferences for how each portion is cooked. A separate server even brings out the mashed and baked potatoes, because why settle for one?
The atmosphere is formal, timeless, and classy. I’d strongly encourage any couple to experience the “snooty side” at least once. It’s a splurge, but worth it, under $300 including a bottle of house red and a shared dessert and tip.

No BBQ back ribs at any restaurant can compare—they are simply the best. The Caesar salad is absolutely delicious, and I love the classic touch of it being prepared right at the table. The shrimp cocktail and steaks are also incredible, showcasing the high quality and consistency that The Octagon is known for.
The staff, and especially the Owner, have always provided outstanding service each and every time we visit. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality make every dinner a memorable experience.
I highly recommend The Octagon. Even if you don’t live in Thornhill, it is well worth the drive. You’ll be guaranteed an outstanding dining experience.

Wonderful dinner with our friends from Nova Scotia. All the food was amazing - large portions, meticulously prepared. Attentive service, friendly staff & great atmosphere. Our go to steakhouse in Thornhill. We had shrimp cocktail, bacon-wrapped scallops, Greek salad as appetizers, steaks & lamb chops with all the trimmings as mains & Spanish coffees prepared table side for a decadent dessert. Nice wine list. Highly recommend.

Dinner was extremely delicious and the portions were generous. Our server was most attentive, courteous and allowed extra time between our appetizers and entrees. Our other server who brought us our relish tray and garlic bread was most attentive and supplied us with additional pickles and garlic bread. He was very friendly and was engaging in conversation. As we entered the restaurant we were greeted very warmly by a male host to our table. Will return!

Food was OK not amazing for the value and the service was OK, got the sense we were not wanted in the restaurant...one of our party was wearing a t-shirt and we got a lot of uncomfortable glances. Was a good one time experience for a business meal and would suggest for anyone to at least try it once but would most likely not go again.
