What a little treasure we found in Thunder Bay. From the moment we walked into this gem I knew we found a great place to support. The store has been in the family for decades . The sandwiches weren't huge but a good size, they range from 4.50 to 5.00. I got the assorted sub and it was great . Lots of veggies , pickles and peppers . The best find was the cup of homemade soup . I had split pea and ham and I tell you it was one of the best I've ever had . My friend tried mine and immediately went and bought himself one . He had 2 sandwiches and loved them both . Where else can you get soup and a nice size sandwhich for $10 these days. Please support local and give this place a try.

Always feels like family when we’re there!! Friendly staff and customers too. Suggestions from staff and customers alike make meal choices so easy. Love the little “thrift section” as well.

I used to stop in here often and really enjoyed the food. I’d even pick up frozen burgers and dinner items regularly. I liked it so much that I started grabbing food for coworkers as well.

Unfortunately, my last visit about a month ago left me very disappointed. I had ordered food for three people. I was given a spoon for the soup, which made sense, but when I politely asked for a fork to go with one of the other meals, (it was some sort of jambalaya if I recall, which was delicious) the cashier responded, “What, you can’t use the spoon for that too?” in a rude tone. When I said, “No, I cannot,” she acted very dismissively and as if she was inconvenienced by giving me a fork.

That interaction made me feel disrespected, and it completely changed my view of the place. I haven’t been back since — and that’s unfortunate, because I had been recommending it to everyone before this experience.

The kulbasa (garlic sausage) made on-site is the best I have ever eaten in my life! Our family enjoyed the coarse grind kulbasa, although the fine grind is equally appealing. Add to that, a constellation of hone-made tarts, eady-to-eat soup and macaroni take out dishes, and one (or many in your group) will enjoy this astronomical experience!

Excellent smoked meats, bacon, pepperettes. All made in-house. Locally owned. Worth the stop whenever you find yourself in the East End.

An amazing little corner store, bodega, whatever you want to call it.

As simple as the $4.50 sandwiches were, they were really good. I nabbed a couple of dried sausages for the road as well, so I’ve not yet had them, but boy am I excited to when I do! And the Cuban sandwich was absolutely delicious!!!

Highly recommended stop throughout your busy day, or whenever you want honestly.

Best bacon I've ever tried! Cook over medium heat, save the fat for cooking. Fantastic smokies! Hot jalapeno Cheddars are my go to. Smoked ribs are also Great for soups! Boil and remove the bones.
