Very good food. I had the Salmon and it was well cooked and flavorful.

This place was it!!!!! Awesome vibes, food and drinks. Went here for my 30th birthday. The servers although busy, had time to chat with my partner and I. Would strongly recommend. The only complaint I would make is that it was noisy. We sat in the dining area which was a bit quieter, but overall it didn't ruin anything.

Please come and try… it’s beyond tasty! The spaghetti really surprised me with its rich but refreshing red bell pepper flavour… looks basic but taste extraordinary.

It's me and my fiance's favorite restaurant and it's not close.

I'm not exaggerating when I say I've never had anything that was okay there. Only absolutely amazing. We get something different every time and have never had anything short of incredible. The servers are always extremely knowledgeable, well humoured and polite. I can't imagine a better restaurant experience.

Ice cubes were clear. 10/10.

I had high expectations for this visit, especially since we booked a reservation a month ago and specifically requested the tasting menu. However, upon arrival, the host seemed completely unprepared for us. They had no record of our request and didn’t even know we were expecting the tasting menu, which set the tone for the evening.

Excited to try the food, we were ultimately disappointed. The dishes were subpar, with the pork belly being dry and the chicken cutlet equally overcooked. The sausage was unbearably salty, and unfortunately, all the other dishes were mediocre at best. The service was rushed, which added to the feeling of being just another number.

The salad was perhaps the most underwhelming—tasting like they simply threw together whatever was left from the night and toasted it all in one dish. The dining room was incredibly loud, making it difficult to hold a conversation, and the chairs were uncomfortable, making the whole dining experience less enjoyable.

We've visited this restaurant before and enjoyed their regular menu, which is why we were eager to try the tasting menu. However, after this experience, we’re left feeling reluctant to return. Very disappointing overall.

No appetizers, no sides, no bread.
Beef pasta dish was crunchy n oily, grease burps came after.
Trout was steamed and unseasoned.
Cocktail was bland.
Limited menu, very limited portions.
2 meals and 2 drinks was $100.
Atmosphere was cramped and shouting. People constantly squeezing by the narrow spots between tables putting their butts in your food area. Genuinely a disappointing experience.

Tomlin is easily one of the best dining experiences in Thunder Bay. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is warm and inviting, setting the perfect stage for an excellent meal. Their menu changes weekly, which keeps things fresh and exciting.

The food was outstanding—each dish was prepared with great attention to detail, and the flavors were well-balanced. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in using quality ingredients and creative techniques. The service was just as impressive—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, adding to the overall experience.

I’m already looking forward to my next visit, especially to try their tasting menu. If you’re in Thunder Bay and looking for a great place to eat, Tomlin should definitely be at the top of your list!

What great experience, a local friend introduced me to this gem

Visiting Thunder Bay for the weekend. Dined in with 6 people, got the tasting menu and was blown away. Great portions. 4 appetizers, 3 mains (salad, meat pasta, and 2 meats), and 4 desserts. Amazing food!!!!

Best spot in Thunder Bay! The food quality is amazing. The atmosphere is great. You’ll feel like you are eating at a nice restaurant in Toronto, for a fraction of the price. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive, and I have never been disappointed with a meal there. I would absolutely recommend Tomlin to anyone visiting Thunder Bay.

Quick tip: They don’t take reservations for parties 5 or less, and they get fairly busy. If there is a wait, I usually leave my number and pop over to barkeep, the cocktail bar around the corner, for a tasty drink while I wait for my table.

Service was prompt and friendly, oysters were excellent; duck was paired with greasy potatoes, so sits quite heavy. Chicken was tasty!

A friend and I went for dinner on Jan. 25. We waited outside for the restaurant to open at 5pm. We didn't have a reservation, and we're happy to sit in the lounge/bar area.

Our server, Stacey was amazing. In fact, that's not even a great word to describe her because she was better than that.

Her service, knowledge and and ease of conversation with us was superb.

We ordered the crispy tofu app, and the 22oz XL ribeye to share and a couple of drinks.

Everything was delicious. We never felt rushed, and the atmosphere of the space was amazing.

Let's talk about that steak dinner. We each took our portions, plus had a box of leftovers each. It was delectable, melt in your mouth fantastic.

We contemplated dessert, but unfortunately Stacey doesn't offer wheelbarrow-to-car service. But we discussed the going rate for a fireman carry-out.

I highly recommend this place, their food and everything else they have to offer.

Too expensive for the quality of the food, and the tip is more expensive than a dish. My expectations were high, is just a normal restaurant.
