Dining at Actinolite Restaurant this past Friday was an experience that transcended expectation — an evening defined by artistry, intention, and heartfelt hospitality. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were embraced by a calm, welcoming atmosphere filled with genuine warmth. The space radiates quiet confidence, setting the perfect tone for what unfolded as an exquisite culinary journey.

Under the masterful direction of Chef de Cuisine Jeremy, alongside Sous Chef Kieran and Pastry Chef Jahlea, each course unfolded like a poetic expression of flavour and creativity. Every dish told a story rooted in respect for local ingredients and a deep commitment to seasonality. The flavours were bold yet balanced, the textures refined, and the presentation elegant in its simplicity. Each plate reflected intention, artistry, and a profound reverence for the craft.

The service, led by Miguel and Krista, was exceptional — warm yet unobtrusive, informed yet effortless. Their attentiveness and expertise elevated the entire experience, creating a seamless bridge between the kitchen’s artistry and the guest’s delight.

What stood out most was the intentionality behind every detail — from the sourcing of ingredients to the pacing of each course. Actinolite doesn’t rely on theatrics; instead, it offers a deeply personal culinary narrative defined by purity, precision, and emotion.

In a city rich with culinary talent, Actinolite stands apart as a sanctuary of authenticity and grace. Every bite, every gesture, and every moment felt like a love letter to the art of fine dining.

Actinolite is far more than a restaurant; it is an experience of connection, creativity, and care. It unquestionably merits Michelin consideration, standing as a benchmark of culinary excellence where artistry meets heart.

This restaurant is definitely worth a visit, and I look forward to going back next time I'm in Toronto. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere and service were outstanding. In addition the staff were incredibly kind in accommodating our dietary issues. As others have mentioned it's not cheap for the full menu, but I would say the price is worth it for how thoughtful, creative and flavourful the food is. Our group had a wonderful experience, thank you!

A+ experience all around. The words that come to mind are fresh and thoughtful. Every ingredient even small ones popped. Every dish was well considered and thought out. My wife is vegetarian and sometimes restaurants just also a carrot into a preconceived dish. Not here. They put care and creativity into the vegetarian substitutions. The staff were all friendly and in sync and the atmosphere was top notch. Can't recommend enough

Food was very good, dessert mid and small. Not the type of restaurant to go above and beyond. Service from the blond lady was really bad. Might have been on edibles, unsure

Food Review

Really wanted to love this place but we left feeling hungry. We did the full tasting menu with wine pairings. The portions are very small and the food was very very simple but bland. Maybe if they slightly increased the portion sizes it would’ve been better but it was overall too bland and not enough food for the price so I wouldn’t recommend to those who aren’t full with a few bites. The patio is gorgeous though and the wine pairings were the highlight of our night

5 Stars does not cut it when describing this restaurant.

My wife and I celebrated her 30th birthday at Actinolite, and we both agree it was one of—if not the—best dining experiences of our lives. From the moment we walked in, everything felt thoughtfully curated and truly special.

We enjoyed the 5-course menu in the garden, which was absolutely stunning—every detail carefully considered, creating a serene and intimate atmosphere. The wines were exceptional, and the stories behind each selection added depth and personality to the experience.

But the food… the food was extraordinary. Every course was perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented, and showcased fresh, farm-driven flavors in a way that felt both refined and comforting. The whole concept of simply arriving and trusting the team to guide us through what to eat and drink was not only refreshing but an absolute joy.

What stood out just as much as the food and wine was the team itself—you can genuinely feel how much they love what they do, and that passion shines through in every aspect of the evening.

We cannot wait to return. Thank you to everyone at Actinolite for making such an important celebration unforgettable.

The joy that I felt as I left Actinolite after an incredible meal on Saturday was priceless. With so much anxiety in our lives, I feel we sometimes forget how damn good it feels to simply experience joy.

I sat in the beautiful garden at Actinolite, feeling like I was on vacation in Europe, and enjoyed plate after plate of the most amazing food I've had all year. Food is subjective, not everyone is going to like the same dish, so I can't promise that you will love the food as much as I did, but what I can promise is that they have a very specific vision for each plate that is executed to perfection.

Beyond the food, the service is spectacular. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable about food and culture and seem to genuinely enjoy interacting with each table. Their friendly and natural approach significantly contributes to the impeccable vibes. I've been to this restaurant more than 10 times over the past decade and have experienced so much joy with each visit. Thank you Actinolite.

Our third time dining at Actinolite, first time seated in the beautiful outdoor back patio, which made the experience even more lovely. Every course was beautifully prepared and presented, with exceptional service throughout. Paired wines for each course were unique and very well selected. Highly recommended.

Sooo farm to table cool, all Canadian locally sourced things cool…. But iv never tried food that has tasted so much like nothing before, i mean why would i want a dessert that has swamp grass in it ? Im pretty sure they didn't have a salt shaker anywhere in the joint and honestly as an Italian thats rough. I get it ,organic but if organic things don't have any flavour then maybe some organic salt? Combinations of food were strange i mean fish and raspberries, yikes! … this really makes me question Mr. Michelin ?!?! … it was trying too hard. And the drinks were as rough as taking a swig of turpentine. Staff was awesome though service was amazing and the place is gorgeous!

Great concept of no menu, constantly changing options based on what is in season and available at the farmers market. Miguel is wonderful with the wine program there as well. Nice outdoor space in the back makes you feel like you're not in the city. Knowledgeable servers who help to guide you through the dining experience. Reasonably priced as well too for what is offered

Everything was fantastic. The back garden is beautiful and cozy. Servers were friendly and informative. Every course was delicious, impossibly fresh and cohesive. The amount of food was ideal. Wine pairings were thoughtful and generous. I definitely want to go back to try in every season.
