Super great value. You’ll be hard pressed to find something for $5 nowadays. Cash online! I got the cold cut banh mi sandwich and it was

Cash only spot (which can be inconvenient but there are many ATMs nearby).Came here to buy ingredients to make a “banh mi board” - prices were inexpensive and reasonable, we were able to put together a small board for ~$20 which could somewhat feed around 2-3 people. Food or ingredients itself wise, everything was delicious.Atmosphere is admittedly a bit daunting if you speak English only, but the staff is simply direct and “matter of fact”. If you ask for something (ie. I asked for a smaller tub of butter / beef fat instead of their standard containers), they will provide.

Love this place usually. Service isn’t the best but the ban mi is great for the price. Unfortunately yesterday I got a rubber band in my sandwich. I was already on the road and couldn’t go back. They need to do a better job of keeping the sandwich filling area clean and organized.Vegetarian options: Ban mi can be made vegetarian. Ask for no mayo to make it vegan.

My parents brought me here when I was a kid and now I'm doing the same. Prices have increased but it's still a staple in our family. Their deep fried meat spring roll is awesome when freshly made. I stick to the old-school assorted cold cut. My new favorite is their iced Vietnamese coffee. Soooo good!

It's a take-out only place with great spring rolls, sandwiches, and prepared plates with different meat, rice, and noodle options.Parking: It is better to travel there by transit. Street parking is very limited.

It's a $5 banh mi, where can you go wrong? Delicious and filling, I'd only ever get the small (which has significantly less meat) if you're feeling a lighter option. Other dishes include rice rolls, desserts and fried rice in refridgerated takeaway containers for similar pricing ($5.50-7).I just realised today they ALSO have other sub options for the same price including lemongrass chicken and honey garlic sausage, I can't wait to try them all!

One of the best value places you can get in the city. A very quick, no frills banh mi takeout place. Cash only, in and out of the place quick, and very well priced for the sandwich.

This is a local staple. Banh Mi Nguyen Huong has been around for years and I've always enjoyed their banh mi sandwiches. The classic Vietnamese sandwich with your choice of fillings. Located in the heart of the Spadina Chinatown, it's easily accessible by the 510 and 505 streetcars. Honestly, not much has changed in this place. The decor, the layout, the menu has pretty much stayed the same all these years.Of course, as with many other places, the prices certainly reflect the times. So, do expect that your average banh mi sandwich will run you about $5.50+ depending on the one you get. All sandwiches come in spicy and non-spicy. The sandwich featured here is their average banh mi sandwich (no extra toppings added, non-spicy).They also have a myriad of other food items that you can pick up to eat as little sides or appetizers or 'walk around town' food. There are rice dishes (sweet and savory), various rice flour rolls and other rice flour based dishes to choose from. You can also get some sweet mixed bean drinks in their fridge section as well a variety of Vietnamese sweets. We picked up a few spring rolls (not hot, room temperature at best, veggie option) and they did the trick but I would say average at best in terms of ingredients and flavour. What keeps us coming back to Banh Mi Nguyen Huong is this one rice cake dish. As shown in the images, the rice cake is made in trays and cut into cubes. They're sauteed on the grill with a hint of salty pickled veggies, green onions and eggs. Top this savory dish with the nuoc cham fish dipping sauce (sweet and savory) and let the happy dance begin. If you're in the area, I would strongly recommend giving this treat a try.
