My first time visiting this local legend! The atmosphere is gorgeous and the wood interior was so far ahead of the game when the bar first opened. It still stuns compared to most other places. The service varied in quality between servers. Some slightly more rushed and unfocused, others very pleasant, focused, and present. The food was good but not exceptional. The cod remoulade was salty but bland in other flavours. The octopus with chorizo was very pleasant and the octopus was cooked very skillfully. The tomato toast was the star of our meal. We got two orders in a row. The cocktails are lovely.

What a gem of a bar. The staff was so friendly and made us feel so welcome. Knowledgable as well. I had an amazing cocktail and my partner had some wine. We had several platters of their great food and I can tell you, on a hot summer's day, this was just what we needed. Great, great place

First and foremost, there are enough stools so maybe 25% of patrons can sit. And don’t rationalize this fact by saying “oh it’s more of a bar/lounge”. Every person in there wanted to sit.
People are jockeying for better tables constantly.
we asked a server if we could switch to a standing table that was lower than the shoulder height we were originally offered. They said yes. Five minutes later a different server said hey you can’t be here.
Good was good but not OMG YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE.
Cocktails met the grade but similar to food.
Service, beyond my short anecdote above, was really not great. I left the lowest tip I have in probably a decade.

Food, drinks, and atmosphere are great! The service is nonexistent. I asked for water 5 times and waited for 20+ minutes. We also waited to get the bill for 25 minutes and asked multiple times. Initially I didn’t want to tip at all, but at the end decided to leave 10% as I really liked the drinks. I believe it’s quite generous for the service I described above.
However, after seeing the 10% tip, the waitress got angry and rude. So cringey.
The place is great, cooks and bartenders do wonderful job, waiters should get some hospitality coursers and ideally be more responsive

The main issue with this place and the reason we won’t likely be going back is that they don’t have seats - that’s right - most people are standing and when you do get a bar stool it’s so wildly uncomfortable I just wanted to leave. I can’t begin to understand the logic of having pretty good food and drinks in a gorgeous setting and yet to make your customers so very uncomfortable. Very disappointing.

The interior of Bar Raval is absolutely stunning plus the scallop crudo and smoked mackerel were fantastic. The white cola was also really refreshing and such a perfect drink especially for summer. The only thing that was not as good was the wait times as just the drinks took quite a while so wouldn't recommend going on a Saturday evening.
